Show Rules - Spanish Timbrado Division
There will be no smoking in the Show Hall, Staging Room, or Holding Room.
- The Judging will begin promptly at 9:00 AM
- The entry fee shall be paid to the SCVCEBC at the time of check
in. Fees are a sliding scale, refer to the show catalog or
2008 fee web page for the fee table.
- All entries must be banded with closed, traceable bands and be
banded by the exhibitor. Birds wearing this year's bands will be
judged in young classes and all others will be judged in the old classes.
- Only those birds in approved song cages shall be accepted: sets of
Valencia or Seville timbrado cages, roller cages, or waterslager cages
in good condition and stable when stacked for staging are approved;
American singer cages are not approved (see
http://spanishtimbrado.us/USTF_SHOWS.html
for images of these cages and other information on USTF shows and show procedures).
- It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to properly classify their own birds and to work with the division secretary to be sure that all paperwork is correctly filled out as the birds are checked in.
- A Novice is any exhibitor showing for the first year. Show tags
must be noted at the time of entry.
- Entries shall be received Friday between 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
On Saturday morning between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM entries shall be received
by prior special arrangement only. There are absolutely no exceptions
to this rule as time will need to be allowed to set birds up for showing
so judging may start promptly at 9:00 AM.
- After the birds are checked in they are under the care of the show
management and shall not be handled by anyone other than those with
the proper authority. Please make sure your birds have enough seed and
water for the duration of the show.
- From the time of entry until completion of judging, only stewards
and show officials are permitted in the holding room.
- The show management will reject or remove any entry which shows
signs of injury, stress, illness or disease.
- Exhibitors need not be members of the United Spanish Timbrado
Fanciers, Inc. in order to show their birds; however, it should be
noted that the USTF has absorbed the majority of the cost of flying a
judge in from Spain and this is very expensive, so all exhibitors are
encouraged to join the USTF, and to support the fund raising
activities associated with this division, in order to help defray the
cost and to help ensure that such events can continue in the
future. Memberships will be available at the show.
- Classification for Bred by Exhibitor show tags will be as follows:
9301 will be the class for Young, Individual section
9302 will be the class for Old, Individual section
9303 will be the class for Young, Teams section
9304 will be the class for Old, Teams section
- Classification for Not Bred by Exhibitor show tags will be the
same as those above except that they shall be followed by the letter
N: 9301-N, 9302-N, 9303-N, and 9304-N.
- NOTE: only Bred by Exhibitor birds are eligible for awards or prizes. Not Bred by Exhibitor birds will receive an official
score card only.
Some definitions for those who have not shown before:
A closed traceable band is any correctly fitting closed band issued
by a club or organization which keeps track of what bands were
distributed to which breeders.
Bred by Exhibitor means it bears a closed traceable band assigned
to the exhibitor.
Not Bred by Exhibitor means it bears a closed traceable band not
assigned to the exhibitor, but the bird is under the exhibitor's
control by purchase, trade, or loan.
A Team is a group of 4 birds to be staged together, under the same
exhibitor's control, and competing as a unit.
Individuals are from 1 to 3 birds to be staged together, under the
same exhibitor's control, and competing as single birds.
