It's that dreaded time of the year again. Time to change the clocks AND tax time. It's like a double whammy. I hate to mess with the clocks. It seems like I just adjust to the time when they mess with it again. Maybe I should move to Indiana. There's a part of the state that never changes the time. Hmmm, food for thought.
Well we had some guy dump a huge load of shingles and roofing materials in our driveway. It only took 6 months to get someone to replace our roof from the 2 hurricanes last year. Now I wonder how long it will take for them to put the crap on! The roofing materials have been sitting in the driveway now for almost 2 weeks. Only 2 more months and hurricane season starts all over again. Whoopee!

Tuesdays our cleaning lady comes. When she first started working for us she'd be here at 8 am sharp. Then then it got to be more like 8:15. Then 8:30. Lately it's been 8:45 when she arrives. This morning my Mom and I sat in the kitchen working on Christmas gifts. We kept watching the clock get farther and farther along. Finally at 9:15 am I decided to call her cell phone to see if indeed she was coming today. I apparently got her Mother, and after quite a while of trying to explain what I wanted, (she speaks very little English) I found out that Betty was on her way to work.
Sure enough, about 10 minutes later I hear her knock on the front door. I yelled out to her, "Come on in." Every week it's a different excuse for her tardiness. This week was the classic...."I forgot to turn my clock ahead". Giving her the benefit of the doubt I smiled and kept my mouth shut. After all, who else can we get to clean? I think we've hired every person in three states. (lol) Not to mention she does do a great job...once she gets here. My Mom says, "I think she has a hard time getting out of bed in the morning." Boy do I know THAT feeling!

There are some women who give birth to babies every nine months. Then there's me. I go in the hospital every nine months. This time, just like the last 2 times, was with heart problems again. I thought once I quit smoking it would help. Guess it really doesn't matter. Does this mean I can start back smoking? (lol) Oh well, it's been 18 months, might as well keep going. At least until my heart gives out for good. Which at my rate might not be long? My ex-husband is probably reading this thinking to himself..."yes! no more alimony!!" So I've GOT to keep going, if for no other reason than to piss him off. (lol)
