Project Orange - Visteon Separtion: (October 2002 - present)
Project Manager

Worked on Visteon IT separation/data cloning/migration from Ford IT. Managed the complete life cycle of the project from initiation to launching. Created Project Charter, WBS, Work plan, Requirements specification. Adhered to SDM (Solution Delivery Methodology) processes and gate reviews.
Managing 8 ITI Security applications such as Text Pager, VIPDIST for MVS/VM eamil, SecurID for two-factor authentication, P-Synch for secure password management, Email to Fax, CONNECT:Direct for EU/NA File Transfer, EasyLink for Virus/Content Scanning, and Badges Services for building/facility access. Lead/coordinate activities/meetings involved in these applications for the alliance team of Ford/IBM/CGE&Y/Visteon.

AIMR Project: (September 2002 - October 2002)
Consultant

Performed presentations to CIO and Executives and provided technical expertise to help their decision-making processes. Worked on huge data conversion from DMG-Unidata mainframe systems to Microsoft SQL 2000 server. Worked on Data Conversion Strategy/Plan, Data Analysis/Mapping, Data Cleansing/Scrubbing, Data Load/Validation, Systems Integration Testing, and Data Conversion tool selection/evaluation. Worked on identifying data owners/files per each module in DMG-Unidata systems and identifying unknown local databases. Worked on converting DMG-Unidata into flat files or into any ODBC compliant format by UniBasic scripts.
Worked on developing CGI explorer applications. Worked on logical/physical database design of CGI-SQL server 2000. Worked on setting up a technical architecture for the future CGI-Great Plain Ecommerce-environment.

eGM Project: (July 2002 - September 2002)
Project Teams Leader

Worked on Web hosting and operations of 12 eGM applications. Managed the content/configuration management team and managed the workload of Data Support team. Assigned specific tasks to team members, managed workload, escalated issues/concerns, and supervised them. Worked with Program Mangers to keep tracking of Project Work Plans. Worked on OSRs (Open Source Request) and Change Management Processes with Release Manager/Application Leads/Transition Managers.
Performed manual code deployment to over 36 App/Web servers on ITL, Pre-Prod and Prod environments. Worked on creating/maintaining the directory structures/configuration files of App/Web servers by UNIX shell scripts. Platform: J2EE, JSP/EJB, WebLogic App Server, iPlanet Web server on Solaris and Oracle database server.

CMS Project: (June 2001 - July 2002)
Team Leader

Worked as a liaison/coordinator between the two development teams and QC testing team. Worked on developing/testing the dealer portal sites by using Microsoft Content Management Server. Worked on building test cases and performed peer testing.

Circles Project: (November 12, 2001 - March 8, 2002)
Team Leader

Worked on developing a website: http://www.circles.com and integrating two existing websites: http://www.axz.ford.com and http://www.fordpartner.com. Worked on integration of two existing and five other vehicles-related systems (one is human-resource system, another two are vehicle history/user email permission systems, another is common user profile system and the other is marketing/campaigning system.
Platform: IMS mainframe, DB2 database, Intelligence Server 7.0/Narrowcaser 7 GA, Windows 2000 server, SQL 2000 database, ASP/COM, and XML/SOAP.
Worked as a Team Leader/Business analyst of design/analysis team and performed the high level analysis of the application. Led multiple business analysts and reviewed their work. Worked on developing Business Process Rules (BPR), Data Flow Diagrams, Business Process Flow Diagrams, data modeling and technical architecture.
Managed weekly team review meetings and weekly integration meetings. Worked on developing work plans and screen Estimate/work effort sheet with PMM. Worked on reviewing prototype screens created by the outside web agency. Worked on interviewing/hiring/training new team members.

ADS TimeKeeping and Billing Project: (October 12 - October 30, 2001)
Delveoped prototypes of the new version of Ford Motor Company's Time Tracking Systems, http://www.tts.ford.com.

PFS Work Group Portal Project: (June 1, 2001 - October 5, 2001).
Worked on creating a portal site for the PFS (Plant Floor System) groups, http://sg143254.itek.ford.com/files/prototypes/index.htm, which consists of many subsidiary web applications.
Worked as a member of design/analysis team and leading a development team as a lead developer.
Designed look and feel of the site, and developed ASP codes, COM objects, Oracle stored procedures/triggers, seed scripts, Java scripts, VB scripts and Active X.
Developed language translation feature for multi-lingual support. Developed Common Security Login (CSI)/User Cookie encryption/decryption functionality for system security. Developed reports repository to house all reports and templates. Developed search feature to locate tools on portal. Developed specifications for touch screen and multi-lingual support. Developed web interface standards (navigation, common look and feel, graphics, etc.)
Worked on the technical architecture review, data modeling, work breakdown structure, software configuration management plan, re-use plan, version control plan, testing plan, etc.
The system is built up on the Window NT 4.0/IIS, Oracle 7.3.1 on HP5100 and ASP/COM, and is tested against Window 2000, Oracle 8.0 on HP6000 and ASP/COM.

CMMS3 Project: (Dec. 8, 2000 - April 30, 2001).
Got a promotion for the contribution to the project. 5/01/2001. Worked on converting a huge mainframe application to a web-based Windows 2000 environment.
Worked on designing a Windows 2000-based technical architecture with stable security and firewall within the Ford B2B Intranet and with Crystal report and multi-lingual support.
Developed prototypes and HTML mock-ups as new web interface for CMMS3 Mainframe application.
Involved in the conceptual high-level design and logical design, and led a development team as a lead developer.
Worked on data modeling of DB2/MS SQL server tables.
Participated in creating/updating project charter, business requirements and screens/reports, and in reviewing/updating testing strategy, test case scenarios and reuse plan.
Discussed potential system environments, such Java/Web Sphere/DB2/IBM mainframe, ASP/IIS/SQL Server/Windows2000, etc., to contain the different components of the business .


HR Portal Project: (Aug. 17, 2000 - Nov. 10, 2000).
Received IBM Management Award
for the contribution to the project, 11/02/00.
Developed, tested and debugged the website, www.mycareer.ford.com, that is a new recruiting process of Human Resource Group in the Ford Motor Company. The site is developed by Flash, ASP, VB COM, VB Script, Java Script and SQL server.
Implemented the form validation for the entire site by client-side Java script and VB script. Developed the email tool that administrates all the emails received from visitors and job applicants. Resolved the browser compatibility problem for both Netscape and Internet Explorer.
Developed the user reset tool that allows users to delete, edit, reset, or view a candidate data. Developed the user data tool that allows recruiters to verify candidates who have duplicate id and have finished assessment. Developed the user count tool that allows users to get the total number of candidates who have created their user id and finished their job assessment. Completed documentation for all pages done.

Extranet Project: (Dec. 10, 1999 - Aug. 4, 2000).
Developed, tested and debugged an application, Extranet ?www.inm.ford.com, that integrates the manual and automated systems currently in place at Ford’s operations center. Completed documentation for all pages done. Developed web enabled business processes for the Internet New Media Group, using Visual InterDev, ASP, MTS, VB COM, Server side VB Script, client side JavaScript, and SQL server.


Internet/Intranet Developer. GTE. Aug. 1999 - Sep. 1999

Tested, analyzed, caught the errors of the ASP development codes, VB COM/DCOM objects and SQL Stored procedures for the complete production program of OMS (Order Management Systems) for three kinds of ADSL programs, Consumer, Business and LAN ISDN. Installed and configured the SQL server 7.0 and NT 4.0 option pack (IIS 4.0, MSMQ, Index server, MTS, etc.) into a web server to test the Y2K compliance of each ADSL program. Monitored and maintained two web servers/SQL servers and reported the unusual situations. Installed and configured the StarTeam 4.0 for the Version control and source control. Performed the 24-7 On-call waiting/ returning for the customer technical support of the OMS and Remedy systems.


Computer Specialist. School of Nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington. Aug. 1998 - July. 1999

WebPages development projects:Developing an online-interview program for the candidate of the school of nursing. Designed webpages for the Nursing school by VB/Java Script, ASP, ADO, CSS, Frontpage and Visual Interdev.

Visual Basic Projects:Developing a student grade report system for the school of nursing. Developed a file comparison program for the analysis of SPSS results. Developed a Nursing Research/ Interlibrary-checking program. The projects are developed by VB, Access, Excel, SPSS and SQL query.

SPSS project: designed/analyzed statistical research data from professor.

Y2K project: checked the whole inventory for Y2K compliance for the School.

PC/NT/SW/HW troubleshooting/upgrade and technical training for employees.

Manager. School of Business at the UTA. May 1998 - Aug. 1998

Managed the computer lab 5 (executive PC room) & lab 7 (special PC lab), which have 60 PCs over NT/SQL server. Did Renovation/ Setup/ Maintenance of the lab 7 for the TCP/IP/LAN. Installed WinNT 4.0/Printer server/HW/SW needed and did router expansion for a node of the lab 7 through a pier-to-pier networking. Controlled/ created users account, printer room control & log on/off over the Windows NT network. Did the whole inventory check/ documentation of computers/ machines and the documentation of lab policies for the Business labs.
