macintalk

I am looking for a copy of Macintalk, a speech synthesis program like SimpleText is today. Do you have any ideas?

Rachel:

enchanted sceptre

I'm looking for an old game called "Enchanted Sceptre." I think that I used to play it on my Mac Plus, and Mac II. Have you ever heard of it? Or do you know where I can find it?

Rachel:

lc games

Do you know what games are good for the Mac LC II? And do you know where I can download them?

Rachel:

dungeon of doom

Do you have any screenshots of "Dungeon of Doom"?

Rachel: Not yet, but I hope to soon. "Dungeon" was one of my favorite games. It was pointless and made an awful racket (especially when it conflicted with my system sounds and the computer started emitting horrible buzzing noises), but it was a lot of fun.

buying an SE

Can I buy your SE?

Rachel: Yes, if you make a good offer. I also ask that the buyer pay shipping costs. My SEs have great software on them, including Microsoft Word, ClarisWorks, SimCity, and all manner of weird games.

Where else can I find one?

Rachel: I'd suggest looking at yard sales (people like to get rid of old computers that are cluttering up their basements and attics). Also, check your local newspaper or look online to see if there are any Apple support groups in your area. There is a large group in my area (called Apple Pi) that occasionally holds "lawn sales" (not really on a lawn, but whatever) where people come to sell computers, parts, and peripherals. I went to one of these sales and saw dozens of SEs for sale, in working order. Very cheap, too. (On a side note, I was turned off to these sales by a man selling microphones who, when he learned that I have an iMac, said, "Well, we won't talk about that." Nerd.)
