Crows are all pretty clever, and Albert was one of the cleverest crows. The others all said so. But Albert was not happy. He did not want to be a crow.

"Hummingbirds are so beautiful," Albert thought, "and they can fly backwards and fly standing still." So Albert practiced until he could fly backwards and fly standing still.

A crow is clever enough to try to be different kinds of bird, and finally becomes wise enough to be happy as a crow.

First a hummingbird but does not like eating nectar.

Eagle but when he catches a rabbit it is just as big as the crow.

Goose but when migrates misses home.

Now so wise he could be an owl but no thanks.
