I am sorry... or are you referring to, once you.. selected an item After I get the lines and finish doing whatever it is, then I want to turn the selection off completely on the tool bar. or tool pallette okay picking another tool, just click on another tool that will keep the selection, but allow you to use another tool with that selection to get rid of the selection all together, right click anyway on the canvas except where the selection is That's what Vikki said, but we thought that there was another way! double click you mean to close the selection at first?then undoing it in history I don't know that right clicking would do it. Does it. roz the other way to get rid of any selection is to go selections/none but that is much slower then the right click method also, if you want to cut out your item and paste as new image that will also delete the selection Maybe I am not explaining it. I mean to make it *inactive* where yuou cannot see the lasso tool any longer on the canvas NOT the selection lines. roz just pick another tool you could put customize your toolbar and put the "select none" icon up there change tools? yes if you want to have a different tool after the lasso tool just click on the tool you want the lasso tool icon/pointer goes away, and you now have a pointer that represents the tool you just selected Ok, next and this is driving me crazy... with the deformation tool... The exercise with the deformation where you create the rectangle that has part of it cut away and slanted. But the who thing was a bit confusing to me. yes try it again and see what happens I got the CD from JASC for 5.0.1. In your diagram of the lasso feature in Control Your picture of the Control is different than mine. yes roz it is I put that there so people could see the tool plus the control palette Why is that? I do not have a picture of the lasso on the Control and also I have one other setting than you did. to make an association I thought people would use their imagination I will try to be more literal in design in the future lol By the time that I got to that part I did not have much of an imagination!

In order to select an entire color throughout the graphic image you can Select/Modify/Select Similar --- and all of that color will magically be selected. mominator, it took me forever to remember to check that all the time :) gerrie is next I am still having trouble with the odd shaped button exercise. yes roz you can do that too :)

okay gerrie I remember your question on the board but that option is greyed out on mine to similar sorry go on gerrie THe pattern disappears at the end of the exercise. 16 million colors has to be selected. I have followed the exercise but the result is the same. I think you were saying that your middle part was getting cutout? Yes okay the only way that would happen is if the actual selection was still around the pattern part when you hit del this is why I suggested that maybe invert did not work I wonder, gerrie, did you leave plenty of space between the canvas and the edge of your oddshape selection ? ALWAYS KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE CONTROL PALETTE and two.. if you have been doing some work especially if you have several applications open at once or many images or just one very large image etc.. remember to clear your buffer and clipboard often to do this.. go Edit/Empty/clipboard and again but this time Edit/Empty/buffers another trick, if you find you are running out of memory alot set your undo times to 4 or less if undo history is set to save too many, the amount of memory required goes way up this setting can be found under .... let me check for sure..hang a sec...like a monkey .. * Granny-Wicked says edit buffers only when completely done with your current project or you will loose your information yes or no leapin? save first as psp, that helps? lol....how about a rotten banana? it is found under..
