Our Audience

There's an oft-held belief in URE that no one listens to it. To which we say, "Rubbish!" As a show, we love our listeners. Good Lord! Has anyone told you how attractive you look today? Mmmm... Anyway, we love our listeners so much, we can list them, and here they are...

TERRY and KINKY WILL listen as a matter of course. It's not that they've nothing better to do! They could sit in Haldon, drinking Skol and listening to the Smiths and early Manics! We're grateful to them for listening... They have described themselves as our "most psychotic fans". Terry has rung up more than once requesting "Old Pop in an Oak" by the Rednex.

The OTHER PEOPLE ON G300s IN HALDON also listen, but not as psychotically as Terry and Kinky Will. MANC PHIL, VICKY ONE SHOE and all the rest of the gang occupy a special place in our hearts. A gloomy, dark and dingy place, where P.J. Harvey and Placebo music plays - oh yes - but a place nonetheless.

BARRY (left) does Physics with Tony and is the Treasurer of RockSoc. He's called in almost as many times as Terry and Kinky Will, and has also claimed that he is our "most psychotic fan" and offered to fight Kinky Will and Terry for the title. Barry has made direct threats against us both on live radio, stating that he knew where we lived.

ASHLEY AMOS (left) is Mr URE. Not content with his own award-winning show "Bangers and Ash" and the plum newsreading slot on "Seddonism", he often listens to The No Show and then phones us up to mercilessly plug his show. He stated on the No Show that if he had a penile extension, he wouldn't be able to walk through doors. Thousands of people across the country shuddered at the mental image.

PETE BELLAMY is Tom's mate from home. He's interested in the No Show, but cannot listen to it on account of him LIVING IN SURREY. He has often requested songs by email and on the message board, the most vociferous of which has been for "Old Pop In An Oak" by the Rednex.

TOM'S NEIGHBOURS listen after getting back from Christian Union and before going to bed. TIFFANY has repeatedly requested anything by Take That and HANNAH owned the terrible Knickers Mix of Space's "Me and You Vs the World". ALI owned the signed CD of Thurman's "She's a Man". DAN BRENTNALL also called up to try and create feedback using his array of Poundland electrical goods.

TIM DUNN is the velvet-voiced co-producer of Bangers and Ash with Ashley. He likes nothing better than tinkering with his website and dissing drama students.

TOM'S PARENTS listen to tapes of the shows and, when they're feeling crazy and carefree, on the URE webcast. They especially like the mix of embarrassing parental fawning and studenty music with weak vocalists.
