Welcome to the unrezzing page. This page will teach you how to unrez. It will also teach you advanced unrezzing like how to unrez to a directory of your choosing. It will also teach you that rez is short for resource but you knew that already, didn't you. :)

I hope the assumption that you can activate the Dos prompt and type commands into it, is not to presumptuous. All dos commands will be highlighted.

Okay, lets begin the lesson. To unrez any rez file, you need lithrez which you can get from planetshogo.com. Unzip the file into the main Shogo directory, and then run the setup program. To keep consistency with the PlanetShogo tutorial, I will assume that you installed the tools under   c:\games\shogo-tools.

Next, open up a MS-Dos command prompt. Now you can just type in the location of lithrez, the file you want it to unrez, and where you want it to unrez to.

For example, to unrez the main shogo.rez file into A:\temp, I would simpy type the following into the dos prompt.  c:\games\shogo-tools\bin\lithrez xl  c:\game\shogo.rez a:\temp. Wasn't that simple?

To reiterate, you type in the location and the name of lithrez is, the location and name of the file you want to unrez, and finally the destination of where the unrezzed files should go.

See, it's not that hard after all. Once you get used to dos's \ slash instead of the industry standard, you should be ready to go!!
