Vis_D3D is a Direct 3D visualization plugin for Winamp. It generates a moving landscape that changes form along with the music that you listen to with Winamp. You can download the plugin to try it out, and you can also download the source code and learn how to program 3D visualizations yourself

Wow, its really been a long time since I've updated this page. Sorry, work has kept me busy with programming so I haven't done much on the side. The problem with the plugin currently is that textures don't work anymore, with new video cards. I have a new machine so it doesn't even work for me. I tried some debugging and there are not failing API calls so its hard to pinpoint. It will probably take some major surgery, I'll try to find some time. I may have to give in and use the Microsoft example code for setting up the driver properly. DirectX has been updated since I last worked on it so that might help too.

This wouldn't have be possible without Winamp!

I've been greatly inspired by those great visualizations already out there: in particular Prince, Helix, and Cthuga.

Thanks also to Andrew Forget, Dilip Singh, Martin Dufour, Mike Morin and Adam Ramadam for assistance and advice.
