The human body and the other vehicles through which our ego or consciousness manifests itself are distinct elements. We are not our physical body, our human individuality is not to this dense and visible body during state of ordinary consciousness.
The ego is able to use other vehicles than this dense body to manifest itself and they are like coverings of the consciousness and de Out of the Body Experiences are consequences of the separation of these overlaid vehicles.
During the ordinary state of consciousness, our normal state, awaken and alert these vehicle are overlaid one over the other bu each one of them vibrating in its own frequency.
The energetic body, when externalized does not take the ego within itself.
The consciousness controls all of these bodies since its seat in the mental body.
When one of these vehicles leaves its overlaid position we say it is out of coincidence in relation to the others and this separation may be classified as a small separation - like the loosen of an arm, leg or hand. It generally occurs during the altered states of consciousness; big separation - during an OBE for example; physical death - the definite and total separation from the physical body.
