Regular Moves
Awe No Murakumo
+
P (can be done in air)
Strider dashes forward and slashes out with the Cypher. On the
ground, it is a good move but can be countered easily if blocked. In the air,
Strider slashes through the air at an angle, depending on the button used. Punches
make him go upward, Kicks make him go downward. He is vulnerable and cannot block
until he reaches the ground so he can be knocked out of the air.Ghram
+ P or K (can
be done in air)
Strider attacks with the Cypher; the blade is substantially
longer (think "sword power-up" from Strider). Use Punch for a high sword attack,
or Kick for a low sword attack.
Vagula
+ K
Strider's terapodal panther runs up to attack his opponent.
It is an okay move but it is easily seen coming from a mile away. Use it for
chipping damage and to get your opponent out of his turtling spot.
Formation A
+ K
Strider splits into five images which reform into one
during mid-air. He then performs a diving kick. Don't rely on it too much as
he always kicks from the same place regardless of the button used.
Formation B
Charge , + P
Strider calls forth a dipodal saucer which rotates around him.
Strider can move freely while the robot is orbiting him. If you do the charge back +
forward motion again, Strider will release the robot as a fireball. It can be
released in the air as well.
Formation C
Charge , + K
Strider summons a black bomb attached to a parachute which
then flies to a designated spot on the screen and falls to the ground, incinerating
anything in its path. The Kick button determins where the bomb will fall.
Short makes it fall near Strider (he doesn't get hurt by it), Forward Kick makes it fall
in the middle of the screen, and Roundhouse makes it fall at the end of the screen.
The bomb has a blast radius and it will hit your opponent if he is a little away from the
detonation point.
Teleport
+ any button
This is a very useful move and will surprise your opponent.
The way it works is this: you do the reverse dragon punch motion and press
any button. Just look at the way the buttons are arranged on the game and you will
know which button takes you where. Short will take you to the lower left, Jab to the
upper left (air), Strong to the upper middle, Roundhouse to the lower right, etc.
Use it to confuse someone and get an opening for a combo.
Wall Cling
+ P
Strider leaps away and clings on to the wall behind him
using a sickle. Please be aware of the fact that YOU CANNOT BLOCK WHILE IN THIS
MODE. While hooked on, you can press UP to move up and DOWN to move down. You
press forward to come back down to the ground. He can also flip to the opposite wall
by tapping back then forward. However, it is not a fast move and he can be knocked
out of it. While hooked on, you can press punch to slash out with the cypher and
kick to make a diving kick back to the ground. A good move to use, but watch out for
those beam supers.
Super Moves
Ragnarok
+ PP
Strider dashes forward. If he hits the opponent (this
move can be blocked. Same concept as Captain America's final Justice, Morrian's
Darkness Illusion) he will throw them into the air. Then, 3 images of strider will
appear and they will slash the opponent 4 times in a zigzag fashion. GREAT DAMAGE.
Teleport behind the opponent, then preapre to launch them to hell with this super!
Legion
+ KK
Strider summons a bunch of terapodal panthers and hawk
robots which bum rush the opponent. DO NOT do this move from far away! The
opponent will occur no chipping damage. Do it at middle screen or closer. Has
a startup delay time so do not expect this one to hit a lot.
Ourboros
+ PP
One of the coolest supers in the game! Strider
surrounds himself in several dipodal satellites which move around him. If your
opponent tries to super you, these will prevent him from doing so unless it is a beam
super. When you attack, the satellites release rings of firepower. A great
super and be linked to Ragnarok. For example, activate Uroboros, do a simple chain 2
- 3 times (Jab, Short, Strong), then do a crouching fierce, then Ragnarok! The
fierce will NOT launch the opponent up since the satellites hit him back to the ground.
