QuickSearch GeoCities!
If you are an Internet Explorer 4.0 user, you can make searching GeoCities simple and
easy! With just a few simple steps you can search GeoCities home pages by just typing
"gs your search words" in the "Address" bar of your browser.
Here's what you need to do:
- Download and install Microsoft's Internet Explorer 4 Power Toys.
- Download this tiny file (417
bytes). When prompted by your browser, choose the option to "Save this file to
disk" and save it to your Desktop.
- Find that file you just saved (geosrch.reg) on your desktop (you may need to click on
the desktop somewhere and press F5 to refresh), and double click it.
- Start searching! (You can delete the "geosrch.reg" file from your desktop now
- you don't need it anymore)
Here are the two items that were added to your QuickSearch listing:
- gs - search GeoCities by typing "gs search term" in the Address
bar of your browser.
- gm - find a GeoCities homesteader by typing "gm membername" in
the Address bar of your browser.
