Home Islam Poetry Other Interests Links About Me Guestbook Email

Hi and Thanks for Visiting!

I hope you are enjoying perusing through my tiny "Mehal." Let me tell you something about myself. I am from Pakistan. However, I have lived in USA for about 20 years. So I consider the States my home but there is still a tender place in my heart for the land of my birth especially for my mother tongue - Urdu.

Constantly, I am torn between nationalism and my religion. Should I feel closer to muslims who come from a wide variety of backgrounds or should I feel closer to pakistanis who have a wide variety of beliefs? Other muslim kids growing in non-muslim countries must face this dilemma.

My parents are originally from India. I was born in Pakistan. Recently, my daughter was born in USA and so far it is her home. So now, I really wonder about our nationality as a family. But not to worry, many families in America have the same issue.

I have just completed graduate work in Computer Information Systems. I would like to be a student (ie. keep learning) for the rest of my life. I am interested in a wide range of topics like poetry, psychology, medicine, history, politics, comparative religions, different cultures, relationships, finance and many more to be discovered.

Thanks for reading!
