Moral is defined by the Oxford dictionary as concerned with goodness or badness of character or behavior. How has today’s societies’ morality different from the past? During my grandparents’ time, morality seems to be set as top priority no matter where one may be. It could be in the house or just out at work or in school. Everything from speech to conduct is observed at all times. But how has that been different from today’s perception on morality? Today, what one thinks about morality may not be agreed by another person. Different people have different views on how one should conduct, wear and even talk. Upon the differences on these things, the perception on the word ‘sex’ may also be different in today’s’ society. Sex should be held after marriage and not for pleasure; parents has the highest priority to teach the real meaning of sex and rape will likely not happen when one’s morality is based on the society’s view.

I believe that sex is something to be experienced after marriage. As we may have known, newly wedded couples will likely to perform sexual intercourse on the night of their wedding. This is normal in every culture and it is the right way to begin every human's sexual lives. Sex is an element that exists in every marriage that extends the love and care for the sexual needs on their partners. These couples have had mutual matrimonial consent and contract on giving up themselves to their spouse. In other words, sex is only to be satisfied by our spouse. A sexual engagement is not only to fulfill the partner's desire on sexual needs or pleasure but also to bring closer the intimacy and understanding towards each other. It's a form of love language that should be shared by married couples. Sex is only normal when it happens with your spouse and no one else.

Parents come in as a big role in teaching the real meaning of sex. Why parents? This is because most children will tend to listen to their parents’ advice on what is bad and good about anything. An example is like a mother asking her child not to play with matches or else it will burn the house down. Parents are likely to relate to their children much better about sex than any other people in the society. Moreover, a society like the Asians will likely to be shy to bring up a conversation about sex, so this is up to the parents to teach their children about sex. I think parents is still the best teacher and counselor for any particular issue about sex.

Rape will not likely to happen when one set their morality according to the society. Rape is defined as a force sexual intercourse without ones’ approval. Everyone knows that rape is wrong, but the statistic of it is showing an increasing rate every year. Why is this so? As I have stated, what one thinks about morality may not be agreed by another person. A rapist may tell you that his act was right to him but not to you. On the society’s view, rape is considered immoral. If everyone’s morality were to base on the society’s view, there would not be much crime and rape would not happen. 

In conclusion, everyone should know that sex must be only done after marriage. Here, parents are the best to play the role of educating their children about sex. The society plays a major role as to determine what is really right to be done. As a whole, everyone in this modern society has a significant role to play to ensure the morality of mankind is still preserved.
