Taurus FamilyTree Specification
Taurus FamilyTree is a Java application designed to display Genealogical
information in various forms. The main application is a browser which lets you
view data as a treeview and listview, with a HTML page for each person. In
addition to this, you can also plot conventional family trees and timelines.
Features
The main features are:
- Reads FTML, Gedcom and CSV file formats
- Displays normal and inverted treeviews
- Can choose root of the treeview
- Displays relatives and their ages in the listview
- Each person can have their owm HTML page, allowing you to store images as
well as text
- Can store images/HTML pages for Birth, Christening and Marriage
- HTML pages can contain hyperlinks to other documents
- Plots conventional Family Tree and Ancestor diagrams
- Plots timelines of each persons lifespan and the events that they lived
through
Availability
FamilyTree is available for all platforms that support Java (TM) and Swing.
Taurus FamilyTree is freeware and the source is available under the terms of
the GNU Public License.
