Regicide is a game where the simple objective is to destroy everything that moves, this includes many robotic drones that have been deployed by both your side and your enemies!
Regicide unlike many of the newer games has a plot that you would actually like, yes I am talking about Quake, the plot of which was probably written on the back of a stubbie holder.
Then again Doom and DoomII also by id had GREAT plots.
Here's a run down of the plot, sorry it's complexity.

The year is 2007 and AstroSight Technology has bought out the South Australian government and are now running the army, navy, police and industries their way, using advanced technology and converting everything to computer operated they are fulfilling their promise to the citizens that they will make SA a more threatening force in the worlds economy.
Then something awful goes wrong, while the mainframe was undergoing scheduled maintenance a screwdriver touched two of the legs from one of the main processors, resulting in one of the maintenance 'bots altering the wiring to the processors and some of the other components causing the states defense network to think that it was under attack and that it had been authorized to launch a counter attack.
At this moment the world goes into a state of crisis, the target for the counter attack: Japan. Japan takes this as an act of war and launches an immediate counter attack before they had confirmed that it was an act of war with the Australian government.
Part of the advanced technology that has been constructed are robotic drones that are controlled by the mainframe which have been released to control any unlawful activity by any survivors and to protect the state from an invasion by enemy forces.

You are part of a drop force who were assigned to shut down the mainframe at any cost, but no more than five minutes after you arrived you were the only one left. Since your team had weapons when the drones arrived they saw you as a threat and wiped out the entire team, except for you - You were taking a wizz behind a tree when they attacked. Now it's up to you to get into the heavily guarded headquarters and destroy the mainframe against impossible odds, look what they did to your mates!

Pretty cool plot eh?
Again, sorry about the complexity and length.

Thanks to a fellow Nutter for pointing out that I forgot to say what kind of a game Regicide is, well It's supposed to be a 3D Wolfenstein/Blake Stone type of game :( that is at the moment under development for Windows, but since dos is much faster I might do what id did for Quake and write it in dos and have a Windows program for the tcp/ip stuff. Regicide will also have all of the action of Quake and Doom II plus a whole lot more including comic things like in Duke-3D! (It will also run at a really good speed!)
Update: I am looking into writing it in DirectX 3a, if it is fast enough I will convert to DirectX from WinG instead of to dos, since there is also Direct Sound and Direct Play it looks like I might use DirectX...We'll see.
I am also looking at lots of different 3D engines - all of which are one hell of a lot better than ACK-3D, so if I can ever compile them I might get going again - at hyper speed.

Update: There is still hope out there for people, I found a site that has fixes for ACK-3D with Watcom C++ for DOS but not any fixes for the Windows version, here is the site:
ACK-3D Bug Fixes for Watcom C++.
