Motherboard #: pb540 Model Name: Legend 70CD When Purchaced: not sure
Original RAM: 8 meg Original CPU Speed: 75 MHZ Original Video memory: 1 meg

Upgraded my sisters computer. Installed a pentium overdrive 166 MMX, set the jumpers to the 66 MHZ bus on the mother board to get the full 166 MHZ. Then imstalled an Sierra Screamin 3d Video card and incresed the RAM to 32 MEG. All upgrades went smooth. The new video card disabled the on board video and the new card works fine. Total time was about 30 minutes.

Have upgraded nearly everything. RAM, CD-ROM, HD, CPU. All with any significant problems. I've tried to upgrade the video by adding a video card. Tried several brands. Can't disable the onboard card. Called PB support, they said this model will not allow the onboard video to be disabled! Has anyone been successful adding a video card to this model machine?

Installed MMXtreme 180 Upgrade Processor. This site was a big help for background info. No problems on upgrade. Outstanding performance post-upgrade. Got upgrade processor direct from Zerus for only $59.95! Now running with a 2.5 GByte HD, 12x CD ROM, 32 Byte memory. Will upgrade video later. Big Hint: Print out a copy of the motherboard picture!!!

Let's see, I've upped memory to 40Meg, Video Memory up to 2 Meg, replaced the original 540 Meg drive 3 times and am currently running a 1.6 GIG drive C: and a partioned 3.1 Gig drive as D:, E: and F:. I've replaced the original 2X CD-Rom and Sound16 soun card with an STB Wave Table Card and an 8X EIDE CD Rom. The original 14.4 modem was upped to 28.8 and is now a Robotics 33.6. The 90Mhz pentium is now a MMX-enhanced 150 Mhz and I've added a PCI SCSI II card for my scanner and CD Rom burner. I'm also unning Hurrican memory manager. I want to replace the video next, but hit a snag the first time I tried it. If anyone has any hints I'd appreciate it. As a side note, I've had to reinstall Windows95 more times than I've upgraded hardware!!!

I have just finished upgrading my system. I replaced my 14.4 modem with a 56k US Robotics. Added a 3.5gb hard drive,16mb Ram,and an ATI 3D video card 2mb. Replaced 2x CDROM with 24x with new sound card. All upgrades went smoothly except P90 to 180MMX over rive chip, finally was able to get it working, and have a fairly fast machine now.

Well the cheapest upgrade was overclocking CPU from 100mhz to 120mhz. 133mhz didn't work. I used original CPU and just changed the jumpers ;-). Also upgraded memory to 60ns 32mb memory and added 1mb video memory. Added 2930 scsi adapter and external x2 56k usr robotics external modem
