Making MoviesMaking movies is very costly as many people and work is involved. Shooting the movie takes the most work but there is also much work needed before and after this phase. Producers oversee the process of making a movie. They decide which movie to make, how to finance it and who to hire. The director is a person hired by the producer to make most of the creative decisions about the movie. Together they develop a movie script with a budget and a shooting schedule. Even budget movies cost enormous amounts of money today. Typical movies cost about $15 million. Much of this money goes into salaries as the stars are paid enormous fees. Shooting even simple scenes require many skilled specialists such as technicians and camera crew. |
