Background Note: Microsoft changes the URLs to their web pages quite often, so some of the links may be broken. Please let me know if you find a broken link. Internet Explorer is the Internet World Wide Web browser from Microsoft. First released shortly after Windows 95 was released, it is now included with all versions of Windows since its first release. The home page for Internet Explorer is at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.asp. Obtaining Microsoft Internet Explorer The current versions of Internet Explorer are 5.01 Service Pack 2, 5.5 Service Pack 2, and Internet Explorer 6. Due to potential security issues, I recommend you upgrade if you have an older version installed on your computer. Internet Explorer can be downloaded from Microsoft's Downloads page at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.asp. That page also contains links for ordering Internet Explorer on CD as well as links for downloading critical and recommended updates for Internet Explorer. Security Issues Information on security issues with Internet Explorer can be found by searching Microsoft's security bulletin database. The database can be found at http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/current.asp. |
