My
raytracings |
This is some
of my best artwork to date. All images were created using Moray software
as the modeler, and POV as the raytrace engine (See my Art 2 page). Moray
allows you to build a picture in three dimensions in the form of a wireframe
image. |
You add 'shapes'
on top of other 'shapes' until the picture contains all the elements needed.
Then you must determine colors and textures for all objects. You can't
see the outcome until you are through, so you must be able to envision
your scene.. |
Once you are
ready, you run the model through the raytracer (POV) and it calculates
all the colors, textures, reflections, refractions, and shadows. For complicated
scenes, this can take several hours to several days |

Plate 1
A stone dinner plate with modern knife
and fork, a napkin, and a metal goblet. A spot light lights the scene |

BanjoGrass
My musical roots include Bluegrass,
but if I made the grass blue, would you know it was grass? There are over
200 objects in this image. |

Cutglass 2
Inspired by my grandmother's cutglass
bowls, one of which I inherited. The glass eggs add some life. |
|
Fiftie's TV
My idea of a 1950's TV. The plexiglas
table is also from the era. The show on the TV was one of my favorites
after school. |

GlassJax
"What can I create using just cones
and spheres?" This is what came to mind and came out just as I imagined
it. I also have a chrome version. |
