Prescript: I'm looking for someone to go 50/50 with me and move to either Ecuador, Costa Rica, Belize, Guatemala, or Mexico where we can make a very low income go much further with a lower cost, and higher standard, of living (than living in the States on such a low income). This includes an only income of Social Security Disability (SSDI) and/or Retirement benefits. The Social Security Administration most definitely DOES allow SSDI and/or Retirement benefits, but not Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits, to be sent to recipients in most other countries! There are many books about moving and living abroad available at the public library and/or at Amazon.com . Naturally, I realize we would probably have to spend some time getting to know eachother, and finding out if we're compatible, before moving abroad together. We could even have our own separate "spaces" by choosing to rent or purchase a house or apartment with separate quarters, and still save considerable money in monthly costs compared to living in the States on the same income. If you might be interested, want to ask me some questions, and/or want to discuss it, please e-mail me at the address below.

AN ODE TO WILLIAM STAFFORD
An Oregon Poet of Renown
Inspiring my sleepless night,
There is a wonder,
What I've owed to
William Stafford
And other pied pipers?
Life conspires
To take away my desire
For cherishing
Even the rare moments
When living has been a smile.
And I threaten to expire
From the mostly pain
Which has led me along
This convoluted trail
Called poetry.
Yet, as Bill S. said,
So rightly, "(...)the role
for a writer or reader
is one of following,
not imposing."
MONEY AND FAME 1 (Dedicated to Marvin Gaye--
another assassinated by hypocrisy)
Like a moth to the flame,
You were attracted to fame,
Greed and money;
And yet, you saw through
The game.
Because you couldn't reconcile
What you hated
And what you loved,
You slowly killed yourself
Both by what you fought for
And what you despised.
Your self-loathing led you
To poison yourself
With escape-oriented,
Self-medicated dreams,
Brought on by the fact
That you couldn't endure
Our corrupt and evil world,
Nor your own disappointment
And pain.
MONEY AND FAME 2 (Dedicated to Marvin Gaye--
another assassinated by hypocrisy)
No matter how hard you tried,
You couldn't seem to secure
That elusive peace of mind
Which you sought so hard to find,
That you died a little more each day,
Hoping against hope to bind
To your restless and unhappy soul's kind,
Enlightenment and contentment;
And to harmonize sorrow and joy,
While staying down to earth,
That is impossible to blend.
And in the end,
You lost sight of your self
In the wrong trend
The world to your own liking, to bend;
Knowing in the bottom of your heart,
That you as only one man could not prevail,
In leading your world and home,
And all that you held dear,
Their evil ways to mend.
MONEY AND FAME 3 What's Goin' On (Dedicated to Marvin Gaye--
another assassinated by hypocrisy)
Mother, Mother,
There's too many
Of you cryin'.
Marvin, Marvin, Marvin,
There's far too many
Of you dyin'.
You knew,
We have to find a way,
To bring some lovin' here today.
Yahhhhh.
Father, Father,
We don't need to escalate.
You saw,
War is not the answer,
For only love can comprehend.
You knew,
We've got to find our way,
To bring some lovin' here today.
Ohhhhh.
You told us what's goin' on.
A "Play" on Some of the Greatest Songs of Jackson Browne 1
SADNESS For Chris
More and more, I'm hiding from the evil and the good
But I still have a hard time crying
Even though I cry every waking moment inside.
I know I'm not really alone
As there are a few others out there like me
Who are, and are doing, the same.
I've had my eyes open for too long now
And I haven't ever awakened from my dreams.
I think it's too late for me . . .
The sky cannot be seen from this decrepit Earth
Because of all the destruction of it's natural beauty
That we have forced and perpetrated upon it
The prize for learning how not to cry.
I've been losing for so long
That I've almost forgotten some of my failures
But all of the sorrow in my eyes
And the fountain of my heart
Won't let me forget
The pooling blood from love's illusions.
I'm in flight from my own hollow steps . . .
A "Play" on Some of the Greatest Songs of Jackson Browne 2
LAUGHTER For Chris
I know you've laughed at me and thought me a fool
Yet your shining smile is what I remember instead
And we both have the undeniable rights
To be so clear and so bright.
Just when we think the words have all been spoken
More appear, showing us that the feeling still isn't right
And we continue along through our separate nights
Tracing our steps or avoiding understanding.
We both have pictures in our minds
Of the people we hoped the other would be
And now we're awake and can't pretend anymore
That we're alone and without the feelings we've known.
For so long I've been wishing that if I tried with all of my might
We could make it all right between us, straighten the crooked paths
And contemplate together what little mystery remains for our lives
If there is any left, as we've been late for the sky for too long now.
Our hopes and dreams began in some very specific sort of weather
But they sail out of sight as we tear at the world with all' our might
And we fight for whatever semblance of that feeling of True Peace
We might hope to find even though we keep running on empty.
A "Play" on Some of the Greatest Songs of Jackson Browne 3
JOY For Chris
Are you there? Say a prayer for the pretenders
Who started out to run so young and strong
And hopefully didn't surrender to running blind
Behind the eight ball of the infernal followers
Of greed and so-called almighty dollars.
If you're there, and you sold your souls
To bleed to death from self-centeredness
And seeking after non-existent happiness
Don't get up and do it over and over again
Only to be left behind when the trumpet calls.
Be there now! Answer God's prayer for your self
Let not your self be burned up with lust for temporal dreams
And run into the sun to be completely destroyed for ever
While only a few others get to enjoy true, everlasting Peace
On the truly joyous New Earth, made Heaven itself.
Are you there with the pretenders? Instead, be contenders
Don't surrender to following and leading the blind to ruination
And continue to ride that express train on the road to annihilation
But seek to find that glorious restoration of the beginning of the end
Always and only to be shared by the true chosen and victorious ones.
A "Play" on Some of the Greatest Songs of Jackson Browne 4
CONTENTMENT For Chris
All of us have this aching need to believe in something
Yet we usually choose the wrong things to have faith in
To trust in possessions and people that are untrustworthy
And who only disappoint us because enough seems never enough.
We find it hard to believe that there is a state of heart and mind
A place where enough will be enough for all those who find it
Or we only seek it out from all the wrong sources and places
And believe we've found it where we have truly found nothing.
Know that life goes on in its myriad, apparently acceptable, ways
While the world does the same in it's habitually unfavorable manner
The majority who think they know about love, don't know love at all
And they long to belong and fit a name to their belief that justifies them.
About truly living and rightly going on with each of our own lives
Could all be written on a ruby in the shape of a heart that's bleeding
Since we truly know and understand so pitiably little in our blindness
And most of us grope in darkness that has no end but a death that's final.
Love that is truly real can never die, but goes on for ever and ever,
Displacing fear, prejudice, hate, selfishness, and being unforgiving
With Love, Hopefulness, Selflessness, Self-sacrifice, Acceptance,
And fearlessness in the face of the great barriers to that Love and Joy.
A "Play" on Some of the Greatest Songs of Jackson Browne 5
PEACE For Chris
What is worth the lives sacrificed in the balance?
Who are we to judge who is to die and who is to live?
Where is our real compassion and true mercy for them?
How can we condemn others' even in "self-defense"?
Why do we rationalize what is not justifiable at all?
It is totally unacceptable that we justify what is not rational
And yet we consider the living of irrational lives to be normal.
We excuse the lies of our own "United States" government
And most of us love or ignore the evils our politicians commit.
The sky is yellow, blue, brown, and black with deterioration
And we allow big-business interests to fill our home with pollution.
Our ozone is being depleted, and will never, ever be restored
And we do pathetically little to put an end to this nefarious trend.
Yet we live with the status quo because of our misguided thought
And self deception that we are supposedly powerless to change it.
Why do we allow ourselves to become black and blue
With the losses we bring upon ourselves each and every day?
How do we continue to let our purported representatives
Have us believe that killing is justified to protect our freedoms?
When will True Peace overthrow murder in the name of so-called peace?
GIRL, CAN I RELATE TO DEBBIE REYNOLDS! Dedicated to Debbie Reynolds
I too appreciated having the car
To live out of,
Homeless and lonely
But not alone.
Boy, could Debbie Reynolds
Relate to me
When I lived outside
While dying inside.
Yet neither she nor I
Were totally daunted
As we somehow overcame
And got into real homes again.
Boy, can I relate to Debbie Reynolds.
Hurt, bruised and feeling completely alone,
Even in the midst of a very few caring people,
While all the while the world went on.
Girl, could Debbie Reynolds
Really relate to me.
COULDN'T YOU, DEBBIE?
TORN BETWEEN TWO LOVES For Chris
Torn between two loves
Sometimes feeling like a fool.
First love is that of a rebel;
Second love that of the world.
Torn between being a rebel
and loving the world,
Accepting others' as one,
Judging others' as the other.
Falling into looking at people
By the world's standard,
They must be successful
Or they aren't worthy at all.
Falling for changing personas,
Not wanting to judge and
Accept or not by that standard,
Wishing you weren't like that.
Torn between having been a rebel
and now being "successful",
Sometimes feeling like a fool
Torn between two loves.
THE CHILDREN CARRY OUR PAIN For Anna
Our children carry our pain.
We violate their boundaries
By inflicting our own suffering
Upon them in vain.
We attempt to make our children
Be what we want and need
For us to be happy,
Making them into adult children.
How dare we make them
Grow up too fast
And have to carry our burdens
Before they are ready for them!
It is not for us
To make them into the friends
And companions we can't find
In grown ups!
Who do we think we are
Turning them into
Unhappy child-parents
To carry our pain for ever?!
BROOKE
Dedicated to Brooke Hudson
Who are you to be so important to me
That I should care enough to share
This my true and real heart with you,
Every so often, Dear Brooke?
You flowed by and through my life
When you were just a sweet young thing,
Until you became a raging torrent
As tumultuous and changeable as I am.
Thank Goodness we didn't ever make love
Because that's what has preserved our friendship,
And doubtless we would now have an even worse
Love-hate relationship than we already have if we had.
Where is the true flowing river
You were meant to become;
Oh, where did the real soul go,
Which is sincerely your's, Dear Brooke?
You project such a persona-mask
Of self-assurance that attempts to cover up
The lost child who is in so much pain and fear
That you really are behind your screen.
Flow on in your way as best you can;
As I know, like literal raging brooks,
You will never find true Peace
Until you surrender to His Way.
So why don't you have a double mocca java
Mocha cappuccino and think of me;
For I promise I will have one and think of you,
Every so often, Dear Brooke.
And Perhaps one day soon you will find
The contentment that is not of this world,
Found in the One and Only Prince of Peace
Which is sincerely your's, Dear Brooke.
THE PERFUME OF PROSE PAINTINGS Dedicated to the Great Painter, Claude Monet
To create prose
Like Monet painted
His gentle impressions,
Is to search for peace
In this unquiet life.
It is so difficult to find serenity
Amidst so much suffering, pain and death,
While ignorance, vindictiveness and retaliation
Surround, ensnare, falsely discredit, and besiege us,
To the hindrance of our discovery and enjoyment of peace.
But as the heart and soul gazes into the beautiful paintings,
Of such transcendence as Monet's tender conveyances,
It finds that its entire being resonates happiness,
And with the meager moments of true joy
True artists unearth in this world.
So, too, word painter's
Find very little precious peace,
In a world full of violence and brutality,
Agonizing to attain some true contentment and,
To experience and share some real love.

"....WITHOUT CREATING A WORLD WE CAN'T TOUCH" Thank you Sean Penn! A Poem [Copyright © 1999 in the U.S.A. and Internationally by Wolf Britain. All rights reserved.]
Feel
Experience my words
Listen
Don't avoid truth
Absorb
Even if it's painful to hear
Join
With the thoughts
Flow
Along in the words
Soak
Let the messages in
Bask
In the telling it like it is
Accept
Without living a lie
Love
Not sitting in judgment
Conclude
Live and let live
"MIRROR CITY" The Writer's Reality (Keeping Sane In An Insane World) With Gratefulness to Janet Frame! [Copyright © 1999 in the U.S.A. and Internationally by Wolf Britain. All rights reserved.]
Writing is a refuge
One reflects themselves in
To preserve their sanity
More than it is to bless
Readers with insight into
The complex "mirror city"
Of their innermost soul's
Understanding and confusion
Revelations and symbolisms
Sanity and insanity
Writing is an outlet
For the immersion inside one's self
To release the misunderstandings
Coming to a realization in the process
Of what is really going on inside
The manifold "mirror city"
As well as all around it
In order to accept their insanity
While trying to awaken the world
From its own surreal abnormality
MY DEAR FRIENDS For Cristobal Dino Giovacchini-Ramirez From Bubba John Free March 30th, 1996 [Copyright © 1996 in the U.S.A. and Internationally by Wolf Britain. All rights reserved.]
I feel like I drove you all away.
Like all we have are memories of "Staples Streets",
And times gone by that we can't seem to recapture.
But, oh how I long for those sweet days.
Partaking of a "dube" in a beautiful garden
That holds you and your dog, Blue.
Bluey and you, a part of my Life,
Like joy and sorrow intertwined.
Salads and "cups-of-joe" together;
We had so much. We were as one.
Now we're a memory we seem to forget.
And the gallery says, "Can't go back";
Yet I know there's hope for the past
As well as for the present and future.
We're better together than apart.
I know your deepest heart knows it.
Never give up on anyone, let alone a Friend.
True Friends are hard to come by.
They don't grow on trees.
They only grow in our hearts,
If we nurture them.
So here I am awaitin' for you,
My Brother and my Friend,
Chris.
SUNSHINE PRISM Dedicated to John Denver May 31st, 1998 [Copyright © 1998 in the U.S.A. and Internationally by Wolf Britain. All rights reserved.]
Sunshine through a cloud prism
In the Rocky Mountains John so loved
Many colors of the spectrum
Of hues subliminal and desired
As the heart craves beauty
It is completely and totally satisfied
By such an experience beyond the duty
Of fulfilling that for which they were called
Sunshine through the Shoulder
Who keeps our world from being destroyed
Keeps us happy though we're older
Providing the atmosphere we've so enjoyed
Thank you God, and thank you, John
For providing us with such appreciated
Splendor by drawing our attention
To the glory with which we're all surrounded
Sunshine through a cloud prism
In the Rocky Mountains he so loved
Many colors of the spectrum
Of hues subliminal and desired
EXPECTATIONS LOST Dedicated to Charles Dickens And his "Great Expectations" January 16th, 1999 [Copyright © 1999 in the U.S.A. and Internationally by Wolf Britain. All rights reserved.]
Great were my expectations and not,
Like Dickens said, of achieving wealth
Yet it has not been meant to be for me
For the best as riches no doubt
Would have gone to my head
On both ends of the scale
In that I am no gentleman
And never have been
But am nothing except a wanton man
Heavy laden with the yoke and anchor of lust
Craving family, women, friends, love,
Sex, money, alcohol, travel, and song
To be cursed and denied them all
Due to it simply being what I deserve
Rather than being a carnal animal
And were that I were a good man instead
But I am no joy to any person, place or thing
Handicapped as I am with bad blood,
Constitution, upbringing, and present state
Sensual beyond reason or much self-control
In short, I have no great expectations
For myself or the world
INSPIRATION A Poem of Thanks to Barbra Streisand For All of Her Love and Care
February 2nd, 1999 [Copyright © 1999 in the U.S.A. and Internationally by Wolf Britain. All rights reserved.]
Thank you for inspiration
Thank you for "Higher Ground"
Thank you that you loved and cared
Thank you for teaching us to reach higher
Thank you for reminding us to seek after God
The beauty of your voice, so much a blessing from Him
The Father, Son and Holy Spirit over all of this great universe
The One who gave you the gifts of your abundant spiritual desires
The Only True God, and Jesus the Christ, are the Ones to be praised
Thank you, Dearest Lord, for Barbra's beautiful songs to us to inspire
So now we come to the Heart, that led her to love and care so much
She submits to being a channel for Your Loving Peace to flow to us
She manifests the results of this Love, bringing us closer to You
She permits herself to be used to put within us such a fervor
She is so devoted, that many of us long to be made new
So, praise You, Dear Lord, for Your Holy Spirit
So, thank You for putting it in loving hearts
So grateful are we for all of Your arts
So thankful for the Barbras', too
So in awe of all Your parts
The parts You give all of us to play
In the grand theater of the universe
For all eyes to behold and ponder how
The controversy between good and evil
Will very soon come to an end eternally
( Please check out Barbra's great "Tells-It-Like-It-Is" website, at: http://www.BarbraStreisand.com/ )
[ Note by me: Obviously, from reading much of my site if you have, I disagree with Barbra on the issue of abortion {the ONLY thing I agree with G.W. Bush on(!)} and a couple of other things; but, by and large, she does tell it like it is and/or as it should be on most things; so, therefore, I share her site with you. Let me make very clear, too, that I am NOT a Democrat(!) like she is, either; and that I believe it is fundamentally wrong to be a Democrat because, as a party, they are virtually just as corrupt as Republicans! I believe one should not be a member of ANY political party because politics as a whole is corrupt by its very existance and nature, and that NO ONE should be directly or indirectly connected with or to ANY corruption(s)! ]
