I began studying metaphysics more than twenty years ago. My heart and mind ached to know the reason for being, the nature of physical reality and the nature of God. During the last twenty or so years I have practiced meditation, I’ve spent untold hours learning to silence my inner voice and to listen to that silence. Just beneath the sound of our thoughts there is in each of us an inner noise - a white noise. Robert Monroe, author of Ultimate Journey, stated that it is the sound of all the combined energies generated by all of the units of consciousness inherent within Creation. I think it’s the most ancient sound of all. I know it as the sound of God.

I've come to believe that science will eventually solve the mystery of physical reality. This will happen when it realizes it is attempting to describe a dream. This is the elemental nature of reality. Beneath the elegant framework of quantum mechanics, atomic matter and physical reality itself, is this simple fact– it is a dream. This is what I know as a man and as an artist.

Within each of us, in our absolute center of corporeal being, there is a sphere of conscious energy. It is ever changing in appearance. It is a particle of God. It is accessible. From this center point of our being, our private reality is projected outward. An ever-changing panoply of objects, sounds, people, places, events– always a reflection of our inner thoughts, desires and consciousness- radiating as effortlessly as drawing a breath. A consciously generated electromagnetic, wave-formed atomic-particulated phenomenon we collectively embrace as reality.

My art is an attempt to visually approximate the visceral, emotional and psychological qualities inherent in the meditative experience. Most fundamental to my work is color. Color resonates within the soul. Also, it is a form of spiritual energy. If properly chosen and meditated upon, specific colors and simple forms, can, I believe, lead to spiritual enlightenment. It is my testimony that, minimally, it can produce alternate states of consciousness and, I am convinced, trigger ancient memories and direct knowledge of God.

Beyond that, my work is meant to be enjoyed. I invite you to submerge your mind and heart into the colors and patterns and let them lead you where they may...
