Chalav Udvash (Milk and Honey) became suddenly very famous when they won the Eurovision in 1979. They had a few more hits in Israel, although they did try to have a career in Europe (with no success). Anyway, a little more than a year later, Gali Atari decided to return to her solo career and left the group...which found itself without a singer. Finally, Lea Lupatin, from the former Chokolad Minta Mastik stepped in and replaced Gali Atari. Unfortunately, Lea Lupatin is not Gali Atari (and personally I don't think that she has an ounce of Gali's talent, but that's my personal opinion) and the group's popularity collapsed. Anyway, Lea Lupatin left them too a few years later, and she started herself a solo career (she made three full albums, including a collaboration with Oriental style singer Ofer Levi, but none has left unforgettable memories). The group decided then to go on solo too and did a few gigs here and there. Chalav Udvash's destiny is unfortunate because I think that they had a lot of talent by themselves, and even more with Gali Atari's personal touch. Well, c'est la vie! |

GOLDEN HITS. Phonokol. All Clav Udvash's greatest hits are available on one CD. The CD contains the Gali Atari period as well as the Lea Lupatin contribution. Highly recommended (for Gali Atari's songs!)! |
