Len Clark's 81st Sonnet
10/21/90

I'm wondering if she remembers me
In her love's utter uselessness she cries
I never had loved her yet she loved me
Carelessly and in vain her love did die
Can't you understand the pain that you feel
Pains of love unknown and forever lost
Pains of suffering and of love unreal
She loved me no matter what the cost
I invaded your precious heart of glass
And without love, I threw a hateful stone
Remember the images of the past
That's all that is left of the love I've thrown
Your pain is your own, your own love naive
Really, what did you expect to believe.
