Inside the Outside World
by: Len Clark
(written sometime in 90-91)

Look out to the West
And look to see the setting sun
Dash across the nightmared sky
Like yellow streaks of fire burning on
Inside my universe

Look into my heart and see
What you have never seen before
The pain of wasted nothingness
The pain of love and peace at rest, on its way
Inside my universe

Look inside the sacred mind
With wisdom, love and peace aside
The mind's an empty cavern filled
With promises and paper dolls that spilled
Inside my universe

Look inside his broken world
of Innocence forever lost and hurled
down thoughts of broken dreams
Immortalized on silver reams, that echo on
Inside my universe

(I know it's a ripoff of Across the Universe by the Beatles. The song was in my head when I wrote this poem. If you have a problem with that, that's too damn bad!)
