Friends

Monika.
Monika and I met in 1st grade where we started in the same class. We've been best friends ever since. She lives in a house right by me and our older sisters are best friends as well. We were in the same class for nine years, until our first year of high school. We've spent loads of holidays together. She's the best!

Merete.
She's my best friend, too. We started in the same class in 1st grade, but we didn't become friends until 5th grade. In the 8th grade we started in different classes and now we don't go to the same high school either. Merete is caring, sweet, smart and she has a great sense of humor.

Rannveig.
I met Rannveig the summer I was in England. We were on the same course (N54P) and became very good friends. She lives a seven hours' train ride from Oslo, so we don't get to see each other often. We write lots of letters and e-mails though. The summer of '98 we went "camping" together in Stavern. That was so much fun!

Lene.
I met her through Monika who knew her from spending their summers together at a camping site in Stavern, Norway. Lene is yet another one of my very good friends. She is hysterically funny and has this really cool laughter. She is really nice and she is a blast to hang out with.

Ellen.
I met Ellen through Monika and Merete. She went to Stavern with us, summer of '97, and she lived with my family, Merete and I in our rented cabin. She lives only 5 minutes away from me and goes to the same school as Monika, only she's a year younger than us. She has a really cool room and she's Alex' girlfriend.

Siri.
I met Siri through Ellen. She's her neighbor and they're the same age. We went to the same school for six years, but we didn't know each other then. I hardly even knew her name. Now she goes to the same school as Monika and Ellen. Siri has lived in Kenya, Africa for two years!

Gurpreet.
We went to the same school for nine years, but didn't become friends until 9th grade. She has a great personality, she is funny and really pretty. We go to different high schools now, so we don't get to see each other as often as I wish we could. Taklia.

Miriam.
I met Miriam in at an information meeting before going to England in 1997. She's a year younger than me and she lives in Oslo. We go to the same high school now where she joined the drama line this semester. She's got a wicked sense of humor, but it's better to have a nice part than to have a dolphin, right?

Therese.
We've been friends since we were kids. She lived in the building right across where I live until she moved to Tokyo, Japan when she was nine. She was in Japan for five years and only came to Norway during the summer holidays. The year after she came back to Norway she moved, but not far.

Gina.
We were in the same class for 6 years, and we go to different high schools now. In 4th or 5th grade we were really good friends, but we sort of drifted away after we started in different classes. She goes to the same school as Merete and Therese, and lately we've become better friends. She's going to Denmark with us this summer, which will bo great fun!

Ane.
Ane and I also started in the same class in 1st grade. In 8th grade we were in different classes, and even though after we got out of junior high we went to different high schools, we are still good friends. She is really nice and smart!
