Tarragona

Casa Milà (better known as la Pedrera) in Passeig de Gracia This February my whole family and I went to Spain. We were staying in Tarragona, a city just a few hours from Barcelona where the 1992 Summer Olympics were held. We took the plane from Oslo to London, England and spent about 4 hours at the airport. We did some shopping and eating and sleeping - great - and then we took another plane to Barcelona airport.

We drove all the way to Tarragona, in our rental car, which took us about 2 hours and there we finally found where we were going to stay for the next week. It was a huge apartment at a hotel with loads of sports facilities and swimming pools. It was great, even though it was too cold to take a swim... Right by where we lived, only 10 minutes away by car, there was this huge amusement park - the biggest in Spain - but, unfortunately, it didn't open until May.

The next day went around in Tarragona where all the shops were closed because it was Sunday and we did some sightseeing. We saw loads of interesting A mosaic dragon in Parc Güell and some not-that-interesting stuff. At night we went to see a Flamenco show and some singing in Tarragona and afterwards there was a carnival parade in the streets.

The day after we had been to Tarragona we went to Barcelona by train, it took only one and a half hours. In Barcelona we went to Parc Güell which was really cool and we looked at Casa Milà (better known as la Pedrera) in Passeig de Gracia. We ate lunch at this place called Ba-ba-ree-ba. If you ever go to Barcelona make sure to stop by that place and have something to eat. The food and service is super.

On Tuesday we were in Reus, a town near Tarragona which wasn't that interesting since we were there during the siesta - the time of day when everything is closed. After being in Reus we went back to Tarragona and did some shopping at the mall, Parc Central. On Wednesday we went to Barcelona again. We went straight to Mango, a shop with really great clothes - and they were so cheap. An aqueduct in Tarragona We also went to El Corte Inglés which is another great mall.

In Barcelona I was on a mission to find some black Buffalo boots (they're produced in Spain and they are about 40% cheaper in Spain than in Norway). My sister, Astrid, speaks Spanish so she had to ask every Buffalo boots-wearing person, almost, if there was a Buffalo shop in Barcelona. Finally we found a Buffalo shop (it was right by a street called Portal de L'Àngel where they have some very cool shops, and it was called May Day), but sadly they didn't have the black ones I wanted. Instead I bought some off-white/brown boots and I think they're really cool.

On our last day in Barcelona we went to the Picasso Museum and saw some of his work and we also went to see la Sagrada Familia. It's a huge church which has taken over 100 years to build, and they're not finished yet.

We went back home to Norway they next day. Stopped by Heathrow on the way home which was nice. The time of the trip was planed excelently as it hadn't been the greatest weather in Norway and we'd had such a good time in Spain.
