My Sister's Wedding - By Suzie
It was Saturday the 20th March Nineteen Ninety Three When Becki and Jonathan Would no longer be single and free Their love had blossomed They knew where they were heading So after a few years of courting They made it to their wedding Make-up ladies, hairdressers What a hectic day But look how beautiful Becki is For Dad to give away. Chauffeur driven to the hall Where Becki's intended waits 'What will her dress be like?' Everyone debates. The ceremony begins With a loud fanfare 'Here comes the bride', Bideford's wedding premiere As Becki walks down the isle With her bridesmaids following There awaits Jonathan Warner With his knees-a-wollowing! After the talk they say their vows Exchanging rings and kisses Becki is now a married woman A 'Warner' and a Mrs! Bernard took the photos The camera never stopped 'Wedding Congratulations...' The smiles never dropped. The reception at Westward Ho! Started with a sherry, To welcome the bride and groom And make the evening merry. Everyone sat down To partake the feast of food Followed by entertainment To get guests in the mood With a play, a band And the 'Bideford Groovers' singing Everyone danced Waltzing, jiving and swinging The evening was at an end A good time was had by all Tears and emotions were unveiled When the couple left the hall! Missing_You ~ Someone ~ Where_be_ye_Going ~ Loves_Philosophy ~ Lobster ~This poem was written for a wedding present for my sister's wedding on 20 March 1999. The 'Bideford-Groovers' mentioned were three friends (myself, Sam and Marisa) who changed the lyrics of a song from the film Grease, and sang the song at the reception. Brave or what!
