EVERYDAY RACISM (Le Racisme Quotidien)

Tuesday 26 June 10.30am - 12.00 noon.

Workshop with Kent hothouse Film Production

Programme of French short film against racism; selected titles to include: Relou, Pas d'historie, Mohamed, Lettre a Abou, and Cyrano.

Everyday racism is a programme of 12 films made in France by first-time writers and established directors, supported by Bertrand Tavernier's company Little Bear. The films include incidents of everyday racism that go unperceived by most people, but say volumes about the assumptions and values of the society in which we live.

2001 is also the UN Year Against Racism and a project leader from Kent Hothouse will be at the workshop to discuss how they took the French project as a model and developed their own project on the same theme in the UK.

Suitable for KS4 - A Level French, Film and Media Studies, General Studies, PSE and related studies.

Cost £2.00 per student. Teachers free.
