Frequently
Asked Questions
1.
You are probably wondering
what's F.A.Q.
got to do with a person.
-
Well,
this is already first question. F.A.Q.
is because people usually like to pose questions (it
happens to you too, no?)
and I have to answer them (usually,
when I'm in a good mood, otherwise I bite :)).
So, this is a place where I will try (I
say try and don't you feel disappointed if I don't answer what you really
wanted to know for women are notorious for not answering the questions).
There's always a number of questions people ask me that is been repeated
and, by being terribly fed up with this repetition, I decided I'll
put answers to those questions here and that means that this page will
be updated from time to time.

2. What
do you want to do in your life? (Didn't
you hear the same question thousands
of times? I did, so here it is:)
I want
to work without restrictions to my imagination (although
I know this attitude will not feed me physically but spiritually it will).
I want to express my visions and images of the world around me through
my photography and my poetry.
That's
all.

3. What
do I mean by my visions?
This
is not a place to answer that question. Go to page:
My Passions
and Obsessions and find out in depth how weird I am.

4. What
do I mean by my images of the world?
Well,
everyone of us has his/hers own images of the world that surrounds us.
Let me quote R. Pirsig upon that: "We take a handful of sand from the landscape
of awareness around us and call that handful of sand a world." So, maybe
now you understand what I mean by this, maybe not. I suggest that you take
a look at my photos, maybe it'll help you.

5. Is there
anything else beside photography, poetry and design that
interests me?
Yes,
of course there is. A number of things. For example I'm a passionate fan
of Neil Gaiman's Sandman and Death comic series. I love reading SF &
Fantasy novels. I am quite passionate reader of Douglas Adams's novels
as well as I love Monty Pythons Flying Circus TV and other series. When
I at moving pictures I must mention that I'm a film fan too. My latest
favourites are Pillow Book & Amateur. These are last year production
but this year did not bring anything that would threaten their rating,
so... I listen to New Age music and few of my favourite composers are Oystein
Sevag, Ray Lynch, Vangelis and lots of others. Besides all that I'm passionate
bicycle driver and I love being outdoors anywhere in nature especially
near water.

Give
me a Job
This
little section is created in hope that somehow possible employer is going
to wander in here and find him/herself overwhelmed with my creativity and
give me a job. So this information is about how much I know about:
-
graphic arts processes
I'm
fluent in pagemaker, freehand, photoshop and i know how to use q-express
I
have a good working knowledge in pre press processes
- graphic
design
i've
worked on a number of books
I
have made some good logos and some of them are on display (page portfolio)
I
also done some posters, catalogues and invitation cards for art exhibitions.
promotional
booklets and folders, and CD-covers.
Some
of the work I'm doing at the moment can be found at a pages following to
portfolio (present)
- photography
I
enjoy when I'm able to take photos for my designs. That gives me opportunity
to be in control of every step of creative process. I am pretty good with
camera and know a lot about classic photographic techniques and what are
the demands of graphic industry processes and that knowledge I use whether
creating with my own photos or using commissioned or stock work.
(for
my work take a look at my photo gallery)
The
way i work:
I like to have a day or two to think about my assignment,
then
I come up with sketches and thumbnails from which I decide
upon
which idea I'm going to pursue.
Then
I work on them in colours and after this i make final decisions.
I
like to work with different, fine papers and different printing techniques.
I don't like to feel overtly defined but I do know the importance and
I
am able of making the suitable work according to customers wishes and economic
abilities.
For me it is very important to see that idea works on more that just aesthetic
level, I find it very important that it has functionality and endurance.
That means universality in time, I do not fall much for fashion,
but
quality. For example I usually think of how often and for how many occasions
can one catalogue be used. That is the reason I made a few artistic catalogues
which are both promotional and applicable for each art show that the artist
is going to make in few years period. Or it is very easy to add a few pages
with more recent work.
Modern work is using all the knowledge that I have and producing in original
way products that satisfy customer's and my own standards,
but
my first concern is the final consumer and how is he/she going to receive
the intended information. (for more upon this subject see objectives)
