WHIMSICAL POETRY

I faced the truth you wouldn't tell
And now it doesn't hurt as much
I realize you don't want my love
Even though you love my touch

I understand the lies you told
You never wanted me to cry
But deep inside I feared this truth--
That hurt much worse than goodbye

And goodbye it must be, for I now know
That I need and deserve so much more
Than the tiny bit of you that you give
I don't know why I didn't see it before...

But I've finally faced the truth.
