WHIMSICAL POETRY

Swimming. Swimming. Always I go,
Investigating
Crevices
Crannies, nooks
Grooves
All those sundry shiny places.
Squiggling myself into where angelfish fear to tread.

Moving. Moving. Always I must be
Traveling
To some new
Or distant
Or brighter horizon
For on this depends
My very life; breath, food, sanity, safety

So I must look away,
Run, zoom away
From those alluring
Enticing impressions
Bright, shiny
And delightful
To my silly, inquisitive self.

And I zip away; I rush and hurry
Must get far; farther from
Temptations that
could cause me pain
Those hooks
and lies
Deceitful things
That attempt to appear
So wondrous; so soul satisfying.
