Art by Rushabout
This Iowa based artist-author was born in the house that sits
in the rolling hills of a farming community south of Central City where
he still lives and maintains his studio. Mostly self-taught with
early assistance from eastern Iowa artist M.P. Harrison and later from
Al Brouillette nationally known artist and teacher. Now retired Rush
was a square dance caller, horse show annoucer, truck gardner, farmer and
business man. He is known for putting some type of human or animal
life into each piece of work, even if it is only an Iowa crow. His
copyrighted "Land of Nard" artwork appears throughout central United States
and Europe. Some of his books include "Trophies", "Bolster Cousins
Chip Caper" subtitled "Close The Door Mom, The Dragons Loose", "As I Recall",
"Sunset of Innocence", "McGowen Ancestry, Fact and Legend", and his latest
effort, four different editions of his "Cookin" series.
