Here's An Incredible Place And It's
| |||||||||||||||||||||||
This is the first tier of the lower falls. The upper falls are a short hike back past the bridge and are just almost as impressive. The falls are not the reason this place is awsome, though. They are usually crowded with tourists, noisy kids and whatnot. There is a trail (sickeningly destroyed by recent refinements to the park) that goes from the falls to nearby Lake Superior. It is as incredible as
Brighton and the skies on a sunny day are blue, as blue as can be. The trail goes up the side of a ridge above the river, and then descends back to the riverside where it flows sedately into the lake. The beaches on the lakefront are even pebbly, like Brighton.
I had to crawl under a low stone bridge to get to this spot. This is part of the second tier of falls. The roar of the rushing water is awesome. Can you find the little black FauxBear, pondering the greatness of nature, wishing for coffee?
Aw. Aren't I cute?
