Daedalus woke and sang his song
Bathed and strapped the new wings on
Icarus rose from the bed they shared
Rubbed his eyes and then he stared
"Lover," he said, "what have you done?"
"I'm going flying now, my son.
"Out to sail the morning skies
"Dreaming of your strong, young thighs
"Think of me alone up there
"Wind is blowing through my hair
"Clouds as white as cow's new milk
"Air as soft as freshest silk..."
"Lover, have you lost your mind?
"What makes you think the gods are kind
"Only they may fly at dawn
"They will strike you dead and gone.
"And what will I do then, my love
"When you have fallen from above?"
Daedalus primped and preened himself
Took his hairbrush from its shelf
Icarus took it, out of jokes
And ran it through one hundred strokes
And kissed his lover on the neck
And on his lips and on his back
And Daedalus closed his eyes and sighed
Icarus kneeling, his lips applied
And Icarus stood and faced away
And Icarus moved as if to say...
And Daeda1us knew just what he meant
Pressed into his lover until he was spent
"And now I'm going out to fly
"I hear the calling of the sky
"And Icarus, lover, I wouldn't forget
"And so I built for you a set!"
And Daedalus from a cupboard withdrew
A pair of wings of a golden hue
And put the harness 'round lover's chest
And pulled it tight as Icarus flexxed
And out into the morning bright
Naked and winged in the brazen light
And Daedalus ran and took the air
Flapping his wings, wind whipping his hair
Icarus stood and watched as his man
Rose up on high and cruised over the land
And at la#st got the courage to try out his own
And spread out the wings as his lover had shown
And ran down the hill and into the sky
With such a sensation he thought he would die
He flew to his man with the speed of a kite
And wrapped him in his arms with all of his might
And right then and there they might have made love
If not for the gods on high and above
Icarus flew toward the sun in an arc
Watching it flame and watching it spark
And watching from heaven with eyes of displeasure
Apollo's dark thoughts on this naked treasure
With a wink of his eye, the youth winked out of sight
And Apollo ensnared him in a dark web of light
Icarus struggled, against all the odds
But found he was trapped at the mercy of gods
And Apollo approached him, layed hands on his chest
The rest of his nakedness touched and caressed
Icarus found himself kissed on the lips
As some god behind him thrust at his hips
For hours or days, it was hard to sort out
Icarus serviced the gods at their shout
A couple were kind, but most came with force
And several were mostly quite cruel of course
His lips were employed to satisfy members
Of incredible size and varying tempers
His hands fondled parts of persons not known
And for one other's pleasure he fondled his own
The worst one of all was Hades' black pet
A three-headed dog name of Cerberus yet
It bit and it screamed and it never would tire
Into Icarus inserted a member of fire
And it heaved and it bucked and it left hLm near dead
And for weeks after his hindquarters bled
"Enoughl" cried Apollo. "Stay out of the skyl
"This time was fun. Next time you die!"
And Icarus fell from the heavens above
Naked and bleeding to the arms of his love
Daedalus, horrified, stared at the youth
Knowing from marks on his body the truth
And Daedalus slaved till his lover was well
It took many weeks from the day that he fell
And piece by piece and bit by bit
Icarus told him about all of it
And Daedalus, furious, strapped on his wings
And spoke at the sky and said many things
As he strapped on his sword and opened the door
He drew close his lover and kissed him once more
"If I don't return from this errand of death
"You must remember this as my final breath:
"It's you that I love and you I admire
"Eternally true in peace or hell fire
"Hold me a moment."
And hold him he did
And just for a moment he was more than a kid
Icarus held him with the strength of a man
With pride and resolve, and he offered a plan
"Fly close to the sun. Keep your sword out of view
"When they bring you to them, don't stop till you're through."
And Daedalus rose to the skies of the gods
Regardless of warnings or slant of the odds
And all of a sudden, Apollo was there
Seething in anger and sparks in his hair
"Your brat I gave warning of flights in the sky
"And now you have come and now you shall diel"
"Mighty Apollo, a rapist," he said,
"What you took by force will make you now dead
"How many mortals would give in to your lust
"With only the offer to kiss off the dust
"And how many gods with compassion will rule
"Respecting their minions, but you are a fool
"What Icarus surrendered at your viscious beck
"Will at once be avenged when your head leaves your neck!"
And without a warning, Daedalus struck
And was gifted that moment with outrageous luck
Apollo fell backwards as his head spun around
A hiss left his neck but his lips made no sound
And Daedalus struck at the head as it spun
And now there were halves where before there was one
And Daedalus mounted the still twitching flesh
Into its neck his manhood was pressed
And he expended his vengeance while lesser gods stared
And splattered his seed where no other had dared
And he raised up his sword as he fell through the sky
And inhaled a breath and he let out a cry:
"For Icarus, my lover, a god has been killed
"For Icarus, my lover, let lamenting be stilled
"And I go now to him, 0 gods of the world
"To find him so naked, my flag be unfurled.
And so he returned to his lover and lo
The youth there was naked and ready and so
Daedalus took him, gently and sweet
Deep in his body and raised off his feet
And Icarus moaned and Daedalus thrust
And both of them roared and fell all at once
And both of them bathed and softly caressed
And folded the wings and slowly got dressed
And out in the sun where it couldn't be missed
Icarus and Daedalus passionately kissed
And down in the village below their high home
Apollo's great temple was now tumbled stone
The villagers only remembered at best
A god who had fallen in ages at rest
And up on the hill were angels of gold
Who flew in the morning and had been there of old
And once in a while, if one greatly was blessed
One might fall in their shadow and so be caressed
As they took to the air and they flew arm in arm
Guardian lovers protected from harm
Guardian angels whose love knew the skies
Icarus and Daedalus with love in their eyes.
