"The Wind Beneath My Wings"

Singing Trees
It must have been twice
that year. In the Spring and in the
fall. The trees in the back yard would
come alive, covered in birds. I would
say to my mother: "Look, there's the
singing trees!" She would point to
the bird feeders on the windows,
and talk to the birds, even if there
were none there. Like she talked
to the flowers when we took our walks.
Such a delightful world it was at times,
talking to flowers and bird feeders,
and listening to singing trees.
