Here we have created from scratch a dining-room in the Robert Adam style. Two existing ceiling beams had to be accommodated in the design, and so three ceilings were created using plasterwork centrepieces and lozenges. These are surrounded by an ornate cornice and frieze of gryphons and other Adam motifs in bas relief.

In the picture above, the right-hand
door is a fake: it was constructed to balance the door on the left and
pediments were added to increase the apparent height of the doors. The
windows are framed by corinthian pilasters and lower parts of the walls
are panelled. The frieze below the cornice is a classic Adam bas relief
of gryphons and urns with the background picked out in a stone colour.
