Hey Now friends,

A Lose Yer Shoes event is in the works for somewhere in Toronto this spring; come back soon! On Saturday, June 17th, 2006, Yellow Butterfly, Shady Tree and Barefootin' converged at Neary's Restaurant for a great evening of music.

Yellow Butterfly is of course our good friend Darlene LeGault, who is a passionate aboriginal singer-songwriter and a real supporter of the Lose Yer Shoes Festival. She was accompanied by D'Arcy Good on the fiddle and vocals, Mark on bass as well as Lang Baker on the fiddle, mandolin, guitar and vocals.

Shady Tree, normally an acoustic jazz and swing quartet, played as a duo with Rick Gregus (formerly of the legendary Hokum Blues Express) and Lang Baker on the fiddle. Rick's orginals were clever and funny, delivered with honesty and energy.

Barefootin' was seriously downsized due to Kimmer's absence but Tom did a little duo with Darlene to end the night (Uncle John's -> Ripple).

Lose Yer Shoes presented a Rockin' Valentine's Dance at Fitzy's Crabshack on Saturday, February 11, 2006! The bands performing were BAREFOOTIN' (Tom Kremer, Kimmer Cuzilla, Stewart MacLean, Nigel Moses and Darrell Donchuk), AINSWORTH (with Ryan Cummings' "White Boy Blues", Joe Connors on drums and Dave Connors on bass) and jam mistress CONNIE SCRIVER. The evening brought together some of the most happening jam bands from the Newmarket area. Fitzy's Crabshack is at 181 Main Street South in Newmarket, Ontario and the number there is (905)898-4321.

Musicians came from all over South Central Ontario and many local music buffs got the best of it. Thanks to "Hurricane" Mike Thompson for supplying the sound gear and performing throughout the evening. Also thanks to Yellow Butterfly, D'Arcy Good, Lang Baker, Kimmer Cuzzilla, Stewart MacLean, Ryan Cummings, Dave Genoa, Pat Ruffalo, Rick Gregus (of Shady Tree), Chris Taucar, Terri Rose and Ron Davidson for their part in the performance. Scroll up for pictures.
