Lose Yer Shoes 2000 ... Northern Lights and Shooting stars graced the skies on Friday night after Basically Blues blue us away with a really hot set of blues mixed with funk and jazz that got everyone up on their feet! The light show began during their set and got into full gear around 2 a.m. It didn't stop till, well I went to bed at 4:30 and it was still going strong!
Saturday was a cracker day with the sun cooking everyone and the bands cooking on stage! Solo artists Louise Kent and Adam Scott provided the folk stage singer-songwriter element and great bands gave us amazing original music and eclectic hybrids of every style imaginable. (See below for a full list of performers) The tie dye workshop got underway as Brother Ed of Whole Hearted Hemp Co. helped folks put a little colour into their lives. Caution Jam finished the night in fine form, although it was considered too short a set by most (1 hour and 20 mins). Campfire jams took over and led the way to Sunday...
Sunday started a little behind schedule, as expected and Gospel Hour got underway at about 11 a.m. Bob Froese, Rosemary Holland, Dar and Tom sang God's praises for a full hour and then there was a break as our friend Suzy V. led a yoga workshop (see link below). To follow in the spiritual vein, Yellow Butterfly (Darlene Legault) treated us to some of her original songs. Soon Bob Richardson hit the stage with some good ol' John Prine, Bob Dylan and Hank Williams style attitude. Tom and friends cooked a few numbers and then the Biodegradables took over as well as a few participants in the open stage.
