Plan on seeing a hell of a lot more poster work coming out of our side of the country. Through a joint venture of the guys at both Low Brow Ink & Drowning Creek Studios, poster work for bands both independent & gigantic will be done for venues all up & down the east coast. The real nice touch is that our printing chores will be handled by the slave labor team of the San Francisco Art Lab, who do an impecable job, as you know if you have anything by Coop or Alan Forbes adorning your cell block. Check back to this page often, I'm sure you're going to see some of your favorite bands being enshrined, what a great way to start the new century. Maybe there's hope for a New York art scene after all,...!

Who says the only good poster artists live on the Left Coast? Not us, that's for damned sure! OK, so maybe New York still can't get it's head out of it's ass, & realize that all those years it's nose was stuck so far up in the air that the rest of the country passed it by in a nitro injected blaze of pinstripes & custom flamejobs. That doesn't mean that the rest of us working class crusty punk jailhouse artists can't give the LA hotrod scene a reason to fear for their job security. This gallery is dedicated to the East Coast crew who remembers the days before the word 'punk' was synonymous with the word 'mall'. Represented here: artists from Low Brow Ink, Myrtle Beach, SC, & the Black Market Manifesto, New York Fucking City, & Drowning Creek Studios, Atlanta, GA

The First Annual Lo-Down Ho-Down Car Show & Concert Series Collaboration Poster : Final draft!

How appropriate that I can start this gallery off with a collaboration piece by the three of us, the first of it's kind. This is Mike Martin's baby, the beginning of a series of events he palns on hosting. A six color hand pulled screen print on high quality poster paper, limited edition first run of 150, printed by Wiggly of Brooklyn, & hand signed & numbered by Mike, Jeff Wood, & Johnny Thief. What an amazing collector's item this piece will make when we all blow up & are immortal urban legends!

From Left to Right: Mike Martin, Johnny Thief, & Jeff Wood, at the LoDown HoDown.

OK, I'd say that considering that this is MY coffeehouse, & everyone else here is pretty much slumming, that I get to put my shit up first! If you haven't already surfed through the site to my profile, I'm a frustrated NYC based artist & designer who is trapped banging out tons of stuff for my corporate day job to put my wife through school,... that means no new motorcycles, no gallery shows, & not a hell of a lot of time for too much of anything! Despite that fact, my wife just got me a new tattoo rig (to take the bite out of just turning 30), I'm rebuilding my bike, writing for Motorcycho & Black Market Manifesto fanzines, keeping up on all software & hardware upgrades for dozens of graphic, page layout, preflight, RIP, prepress, 3D, animation, & HTML programs, on three separate operating platforms, & still find the time to squeeze in some poster work for my favorite bands. I'm including links to all the independents, surf on over & show 'em some love, but not until you've bookmarked this page!

If you're ever in New York, you had damned well better come & drag my ass out to a show, all work & no play & all that, you know,... you'd better hurry, before I get all Jack Nicholson on your ass!

Jack Black with the Friggs / Coney Island High, NYC

11" x 22" 3 color silk screen print, hand signed & numbered, edition of 100

Greaser punks Jack Black is one of the nine bands who played the HoDown in Myrtle Beach, so I wanted to make sure they got a warm reception when the came on back home. Another poster printed at Wiggly Press in Bayside Brooklyn, these prints really stood out all over the venues & tattoo shops of St. Mark's Place in the East Village.

Posters are still available, if you are interested in adding it to your collection, it's in florescent colors on heavy grade poster stock, looks damned cool under black light, & is yours for

$10.00!

which includes shipping tubes & first class US postage.

Email me for details.

CMJ Music Festival / Lookout Records Night featuring The Donnas @ Coney Island High, St. Mark's Place, NYC

12" x 21" Process IRIS print on glossy stock

The worst thing about New York is it's so dry, & then everyone you ever wanted to see comes to town,... all on the same time, all on the same night! But this show was one of those you just don't blow off, great bands at a great venue. The Donnas are either heralded or critiqued for being a teenage all girl version of The Ramones,... especially with a lineup like 'Rock N Roll Machine','Wanna Get Some Stuff', 'Checkin It Out', & 'Gimme My Radio'. But it's hard not to love a group of barely legal girls in patent leather pants singing about how they know about getting it on & how they want a little piece of you, so the critics are just going to have to try harder.

The Lunachicks / Donnas @ The Bowery Ballroom, Delancy St., NYC

12" x 21" Five Color print on glossy stock

The Lunachicks are one of the most underrated bands in punk rock today. I know snobby music critics can't see past the insane costumes, the way Theo pretends to orgasm while picking her nose, or the way Squid screams off your manhood while pulling up her minidress, & nobody can ever really take songs like 'Spork', 'Donuts', 'The Day Squid's Gerbil Died', or 'Buttplug' too seriously, but seriously, these girls really know their instruments, both musical & vocal. I'd take the Lunachicks over every emo-core band ever produced to provide one of the best live performances you'll ever see.

This poster was done only a week after the Donnas poster, see how much energy I get when I get a real job?

Scofflaws / Bim Skala Bim @ The Wetlands, Hudson St., NYC

15.5" x 24" Inkjet print on glossy stock

The Scofflaws are easily one of my favorite ska bands, a third wave band with phat roots in original Jamaican ska sounds, accompanied by keyboards, a huge horn section, & a stand up bass. Their albums are classic the minute they're pressed, but the live shows just go prove that so much of ska music gets lost when recorded, there is nothing quite like the wall of sound slamming into you,... you know what I mean! If you don't currently own anything by them, order their live album off of Moon Records homepage,... you won't stop stalking me until you can thank me proper!
