12/18/04: I guess Guild Wars fan fiction counts as not MUD related. Check out my latest efforts in writing here.
The following two tales deal with the character Lioness Tygereye, an ex-criminal who escaped from the empire of the Yinn, and now leads a religious group. "This Most Deadly Venom" deals with some of her history, and the circumstances which brought her brother, Keiichi, to the southern lands. "And all my dreams, Torn asunder..." has to do with a current RP story, of which (like Lioness) I really have no clue what is going on...
This Most Deadly Venom
And all my dreams, Torn asunder...
Lioness takes pride in training her Austinians into the finest helpers, mages, and explorers of the land, but what is she to do when she has one who doesn't want to learn "theef magic"?
These stories have to do with Keska Srys, the ancient, really mean, wild-elven bladesinger. The first stories were written as an introduction to when I would post the stories of the history of her tribe. Much of this has been lost due to a hard drive crash. Basicly Keska, who is sworn to Rhea Shalonost the old leader of the elf clan, questions her ablity to advise another Shalonost, who she has so little to do with training, and goes exploring outside the vallenwoods for some insight.
...If you are one of the 5 insane Keska fans that is actully curious as to what the heck "Mai lit-k'ni aiti shazi" means, here is the translation you all have been waiting for: "One must leave to be missed."
Mai lit-k'ni aiti shazi: To destroy a history
Here is the first of the tales dealing with the history of the wild-elf tribe Srys. It takes place when the yinn had to begun to advance on the elven lands, causing the Shalonesti kingdom to close its borders to all, including any elves living outside the kingdom. It deals with how the tribe came to forsaking the old gods, and pledging themselves to the sun, and the curse of the bladesinger that would be Keska's great times many grandmother, on the tribe for doing so.
Likk kittiuk hy Srysmai: On the light, and the curse of Alysanna
This is the second of several tales dealing with "Likk kittiuk hy Srysmai", or in plain english, "The history of the tribe Srys". It is concentraited around Keska's mother and uncle, the half drow/wild-elves: Merinana and Tryzeler Sakam; as well as Keska's father, Kinickkth Srys, who's "sun-blind" crusades against the non-believer wild-elven, drow, and hill-dwarf tribes and cities around him would adventually help lead to the fall of the Srys.
Likk kittiuk hy Srysmai: On the Binding of Darkness
In the third tale of the history of the Srys: Tryzeler's master plan backfires, he meets Srys, and Kinichkkth storms off in a huff.
This story also contains the phrase "eating souls with a fork of endless pain" which has made me a hero in some circles, others are just dissapointed that I didn't say spork.
Likk kittiuk hy Srysmai: On Necromancy's Children
The fourth tale of the Srys, the birth of Keska, a lovely story of brotherly love. Kinichkkth again storms off in another huff; why can't he have a normal tree-hugging family like other wild elves anyhow?
Likk kittiuk hy Srysmai: On the Summoning of a Demon
There are alot of in-jokes in Datai's tales regarding skills, spells, game-mechanics, areas and items from the MUD.
Of all the swirling colors, the ones in holy beer remind me best of you
Is it just me, or are most the people on the MUD orphans? Datai explores the dangers behind a generation of knights raised without parents or a proper education. She also tries to cure Sir Suradis, one of the most accident prone knights ever, who has more disorders and strange phobias due to odd curses than anyone who has ever resided in Gareth Keep... and why does Sir Hengst's accent show up when he writes notes? Has his player forgotten how to speak normally in real life?
V is for Virtue, W is for Writing
It takes alot of hard work to become a real, true, fairy-tale paladin of Good. No one knows that more than the Crown Knight, Sir Hengst, who has come a long way from his time as a squire. Here Datai captures the tale of one of his most dashing blunders.. er.. rescues.
From the Fractured Fairy Tale Knight Department: The Tale of Sleeping Beauty
The Offical Lute of the Shield Knights was getting heavy, so Datai passes it over to Sir Amargein, so he can try his hand at being a Lute-attendant, too! Training new officers is no small order, and where is Pferdheim anyhow?
