Born in a rural, upstate new york town, I pursued an interest in art at an early age. I was captivated by cartoons and photographs of wild animals so I soon began to copy these images onto loose scrap paper and sheets of notebook paper. My parents always encouraged me with untencils and paper to keep my creative juices flowing and my mischeivous ideas in check. Although I became more academically inclined in high school I always maintain an affinity for art and of course continued to create more and more artwork. Though I didn't plan on pursueing it as a career, I still enjoyed the creative and meditative side of being an artist. After several years of trying to find the "right career" I decided to enroll in college to fully explore a talent that I had an affinity for. I enjoyed myself very much in art school at both Jamestown Community College and SUNY Fredonia, and I also learned quite a bit also. Most notably was how to learn about myself and what I thought was important to create. Since then I have had several shows and performances and continue to create to this day. Although I have yet to turn it into a full time job, I welcome the challenge of any artistic endevor, no matter what the perameters. Christopher T. Sciarrino |
