Pennsic Links

WHERE ARE WE? Sharptooth camps on Old Tuchux Hill, near the corner of Hill Road and Good Intentions. We are all the way in the back, up against the highway. Yes, that's us back there with the beautiful white pavilions, the banners, the sheet wall with green ivy vines. Our camp is beautiful and fun; we even have fun camp rules.

LOCAL WEATHER: Pennsic is held every year in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, near Moraine State Park, north of Pittsburgh and south of Erie. The nearest on-line weather location is Butler, and the weather in Slippery Rock is identical to Butler's for all practical purposes. Based on my 10 Pennsics, I expect the weather to be anywhere from hot (100F+) to coolish (60s-70s) during the day and from warm (80F) to cold (35-40F) at night. There will be at least one big storm, possibly more, with high winds and rain. Because the weather for the last three years has been very pleasant, I expect next year (2000) to be absolutely awful. But it won't matter, a bad-weather week at War is still better than a good-weather week anywhere else.

SITE PICTURES:

Architecture, anyone? On-site architecture can get quite elaborate.

Interested in fighting? There are a number of different sites that feature good pictures of Pennsic battlefields, including the Mountain Pass Battle and others.

WHEN IS IT ALREADY?
