They are unable to find anyway out of the basement, but Daphne accidentally tripped off some kind of booby-trap which caused a giant crystal spiral staircase to rise out of the floor.
Fred suggested that they split up. He went off towards the bedroom with Daphne and Velma; Shaggy and Alvin went off in search of the kitchen.

Shaggy and Alvin met Velma in the industrial-looking kitchen. She had accidentally become separated from Daphne and Fred. Shaggy and Alvin feasted on bizarre delicacies from another universe. Velma searched for clues in the immense and hideous icebox, but tripped, and her glasses slid underneath. She felt around under the icebox and, instead of her glasses, came out -*Jinkies!*- with a small grotesque statue.

Velma began to feel very warm all over. Within seconds she began to remove her dress and dance provocatively. Shaggy looked up from the eye-stalk and rubbery liver-like organ meat sandwich and did a doubletake. "Like, Zoinks!" he exclaimed, "I think there's something wrong with Velma."
They heard someone entering the kitchen so they all hid in the pantry. It turned out to be Fred and Daphne, looking flushed and sweaty. Shaggy attempted to explain what was going on, but all of a sudden the lights went out!
