I visited the Pentecostal Church in Copenhagen for the first time in April 1991. I gave my life to Jesus that day and in May I was baptised and became a member of the church.davidconrad.jpg (14420 bytes)

I was welcomed in the church by a man called Birger Jarnvig - and he did a good job looking after me the first few times I went in there. Later I was "adopted" as by David Conrad who did a good job teaching me about God. By the way the picture is set up. David asked to get a picture he could show his mother to prove he was capable of making food himself (in the background you can see my bread-machine, which makes bread automatically...). In September 91 I went to my first christian conference. It took place in Jonkoping in Sweden. They call it the Jerusalem of Sweden. Over one third of the inhabitants are born-again christians. I went there with jarle1.jpg (18715 bytes)our senior pastor Jarle Tangstad, another pastor Henrik Julin and David. I had a good time, but it was quite an overwhelming experience being with several thousand dedicated christians when you're not used to that. I survived.

I got to know Jarle quite as a good man. So heres a picture of him

The next 5 years was a very exciting. I was involved in a lot of different things in the churh. The youth-choir - Praise. The youth-work. Teaching new christians. And much more.

I met a lot of interesting people in connection with the church. Here's just a few of them:

alterna1.jpg (12988 bytes)A short time after I joined the club, Alterna Australia returned from ... Australia. They spent a week doing evangelistic stuff in the neighbourhood of the church. One day one of the girls got her hands on my tie. eriktanya.jpg (12367 bytes)

This is Erik and his russian wife Tanya. I met Erik after a youth-meeting. He is a quiet chap, but has made some of the most funny practical jokes I've ever come across. He has 'krejler' whatever that is in english - merchant. I haven't spoken with him for quite a while. Maybe I should give him a buzz.

Here you can see Hans, Johnny and Søren at a 'March for Jesus' in Copenhagen.

I cannot remember the name of this young man. His dad is Nikolaj and mother Rachel. I shut him at our camp facilities in the Høve in the Northern part of Sealand.

This is Rikke.

Our youth-leader came from Germany. Her name was Ruth and she could be quite annoying some times. So one night at a youth-camp she stepped over the line, by smashing a "neger-bolle" on my nose. I had bought some whipping cream during the day, but thought it was too much to use it - until she crossed the line. Well I really surprised her with this little attack. She was involved in a "deep" conversation with Katarina - a set up.

ruthkage2.jpg (18332 bytes)The revenge was sweat and so was she the rest of the week.

Each year all the independent pentecostal churches in Denmark meet in Mariager to celebrate our Lord. One year we had two guestspeakers from Vineyard in Anaheim LA. The translator was (still is bald) so they made a practical joke on him the last evening. Hilarious - at least if you were there.

prtys1.jpg (54258 bytes)One year I went with the youth-choir to Germany. Our bus broke down on the way home. Here is a picture of three chaps trying to figure out what went wrong. The full story will come on this site at a later point in time.
