It's been a year since my last update and I'm horribly ashamed. Last time I wrote, I mentioned a 1972 VW Bug that my next door neighbor is giving us. As it turns out, he's giving us his 1971 Bug as well which is sitting in my garage in pieces. My 17 year-old cousin, James, is going off to college this fall and we thought it would be a good idea for him to restore a Bug. So far, so good. So, Jimmy is restoring the 1971 and the 1972 is still waiting for someone to make it whole again.
In addition, Kyle bought a 1976 Triumph Spitfire a couple of months ago and made it all nice and pretty. I would have liked to have had it around longer, but he had a buyer for it before the BRG paint was even dry on it. Luckily, it went to a friend, so we can still visit once in a while.
The latest project has been a 1968 VW Bus which Kyle will be painting tomorrow. I can't wait to see the finished result. Gray interior and lapis blue paint with a white top. Complete with Playstation 2 and awesome sound system!
The real reason I'm posting though is to mention that we FINALLY got a Ghia! It's in Arizona and we should be picking it up this weekend. Read the next entry for full details.
