Notes 5 - Atheism

No man has ever forced me to bend my knee to him. No king, no emperor, no governor has caused me to bow to him.

So why then would God ask me to do so? Why would a God ask that of me, command that of me?

So I will not. My life is mine to live. I will not give one hour of one day to pay homage to a God -- if that God exists, why should I be subservient to that being? Living life as I see fit is not enough, I have to pledge my allegiance to some all-powerful force?

I think not.
