Camera:
The camera is the tool that is needed for filming. For animation, the camera must be able to do single frame exposures and must have a lens to focus on a small field (default is 8 1/2" x 10"). Zoom leneses are also helpful for doing special techniques. Most animators will use color film for "indoor" or "tungsten" use. This helps with lighting conflict. For professional work, you should use the 16 mm format for the film distribution.

Storyboard:

The use of simple precut sheets of papers on posterboard showing the drawings with dialogue is an inexpensive way for it.

Regestration Devices:

Regestration Devices

A wooden molding, a 90 degree metal rule, or a similar structure is fastened to a wooden plexiglass drawing surface.
A) You can select any corner you prefer, but note that the area used for drawing shouldn't come too close to the edges of the sheets you use.
B) A simple pair of "bugs" is traced on successive sheets. These marks must be aligned in filming as well as drawing. Using a standard 2-hole or 3-hole punch, a sturdy regestration peg system can be made with dowel and papers punched to match it.
