Mural Painting Workshop
The workshop on mural painting introduces participants to the process of researching, designing, and painting of large scale murals in public places. The activity begins with an overview of the history of mural painting with an emphasis on community based mural painting in the United States of America. I instill within the students awareness of the value of mural painting as a means of cultural expression and civic pride. Once the students have gained an historical overview, I engage the students in the hands-on process of developing the theme for a mural, researching the subject matter, and finally design and painting of a finished mural. The importance of working in collaboration with others will be emphasized throughout the workshop. Upon completion of the group mural, each participant in the workshop will have skills necessary for design and painting of a mural, either collectively or individually.
Fee:
$250.00 per day
Food and Lodging:
Sponsor of the workshop is expected to provide food and lodging if the workshop lasts more than one day.
Supplies:
Sponsor of the workshop is expected to pay of all equipment and supplies need for painting of the mural.
