A Mental Workout for a Lazy Day
The crossword puzzle has always provided a good mental workout for the word lover, a learning tool for those seeking to improve their vocabulary, and a pleasurable way to pass the time on a lazy afternoon.
To play the puzzle:
- Click a white square.
The square you clicked will turn yellow - this is the active square.
The other squares for the word will turn cyan blue.
If the square you selected is in both a down and a across word, the across word is selected.
Click again to toggle the selection to the down word.
- Read the clue.
The number, direction, and clue for the word appear above the puzzle.
- Type your answer.
Correct letters appear in black.
Wrong letters appear in red.
The active square will advance to the next letter in the word until you reach the end of the word.
Click on any square at any time and type any letter to replace the one already there.
- Click another white square to go to another word.
Continue until you have all the words solved.
- Celebrate!
When all squares contain a black letter you are done! Great Job!
Troubleshooting
Question: Why can't I save the words I've already found?
Answer: These puzzles are meant to be solved in one session, so there is no facility to save the puzzle and return to it.
